It could be a wire / switch at the pedal...

or maybe someting in the light housing is wet or jumping.

do you have auto? It might be something inside the case.

also check the e-brake... though I'm not sure if that engages the taillights.

the little rubber plug that goes into the hole in the brake pedal arm has fallen out. that pushes on the brake switch when the brake pedal is released and turns off the brake lights. i used a round head stove bolt,a short one. the round part goes towards the switch.

if this was a domestic car from that year you would have a lot worse electrical problems then brake lights. here is the place where the little plastic plug goes. this has a stovebolt in it,this solves the problem of the plug falling out. http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_166_full.jpg what did you spend eighty bucks on? http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_167_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_168_full.gif
