:wtf: Okay, my car drives fantastic, but when i come to a stop it dies, when i turn it dies, it idles like crap and it diesels. I checked for vaccum leaks and found that the base of the carb was leaking really bad. So i pulled it off  and replaced all the gaskets at the carb base (EFE gasket and mounting gasket) and they were definatley leaking. Put it all back together and it still does it. :uh: there are no vaccum leaks now, and it does the same thing. I gave it a COMPLETE tune up too and checked the float, it stays right in the middle. I really need your guys' help on this one  , i dont know jack about carbs.
BTW its a 88 5spd LX

BTW its a 88 5spd LXyou don't need a lot of money to fix up your car, look at my site, i'm broke as crap. when you have to make your own parts you get creative. my car looks like i spent a ton of money on it,except for the paint. but i had to build everything myself. companies like apc don't want you to be creative.they want you to buy a bunch of their crap. original hot rods and street customs were built by guys who just enjoyed working on their cars, originally there weren't a
lot of custom parts even made. :) sorry to get off topic, i was reading your signature. if you put enough time in your car a little at a time you'll have it looking great eventually.

These cars with carbs. need a re-build on the carburetor over 15 years plus. Re-build kit cost around $40. Link on how to below. Label & number parts in baggies as you remove it so you don't get lost.

Turns out it was the intake manifold gasket, and the fact my timing belt skipped two teeth wasn't helping either. No wonder it was having issues. :uh:
