1988 accord dx carb i need to find out the name of the rotor and cap i want to do the tune up but the guy at the store told me that there are two kind of distributor caps so i do i find out which is mine thanx

There is a HITATCHI and a TEC

I beleive I have both caps and will show you pics if you give me a moment to post them.

That is the euro accord caps and possibly JDM and Aussie caps.
It may also be from the prelude A series

the TEC one with the flat side, is the one for the EFI cars, like the LXI and the SEI, if you are DX or a LX with a carb, you use the Hitachi ones. the shop manual goes by the engine code, A1 and A2 use Hitachi while the A3 and A4 use the TEC>

Nah there is a tec carb distributor for the accord, it uses a big plastic advance diaphragm that faces the radiator and the dizzy doesn't have the spacer the efi one has.

hmmm interesting. but for USDM versions, there should be only two and they are pretty much the same right?

I have the cap that A20A1 is describing on my A20A1. The vacuum advance diaphragm faces forward and the cap is identical to the TEC cap in the picture. So my guess is that there are more than two types.
