so, i went to the junk yard the other day, and i picked up one of those nifty bose steering wheel controls(my goal is to have every single button that can come with the accord), and now i learn that you have to either cut the existing back part of the steering wheel housing, or get one that is made for having the bose control for the actual control to fit on...LAME!

So far, all i need is this one on, and the foglight switch too(unless theres others that i dont know about)

Right now it look like im going to make a how to for the make your own jdm foglight switch, i have about 10 cruse control switches to mess around with.

Also, i picked up ANOTHER set of cup holders, these ones are mint...

I have no need for my old ones. The old ones are missing the insert that holds the cups, and the corners of the bottom flap thing broke when i first got it. I put some glue stuff on it and its staying fine.

what did you get that control from? you also need the proper slip ring, the cruise one has only two contacts. i think i could get one of those to work, but it would involve welding on the tabs to make it work. the cruise unit has metal tabs welded on to the wheel assemble, thats what the screws attach to. the tabs are mising on the other side. i think other then that it would work. did the wheel that came off of have the slip ring unit that attaches to the combination switch like our cars? i have a dx and was able to adapt the cruise slip ring over to my car, along with the wheel. here is an idea for the fog lamp switch, this is made from a retractor switch,i changed the emblem a little and turned it around, the bezel is from the three switch cluster,i cut it in half and then glued it back togther and filled in the gaps. http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_68.jpg indicator in instrument cluster http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_81.jpg thats not a double image,it's right over the high beam indicator,it's green so ther's no confusion. I decided i didn't need the tape holder, i found the unit at a junkyard and modified it to hold the altimeter and the clock/stopwatch from a 280 z. http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_38.jpg did the cup holder come with feet? or is that a new modification

i got it from a lxi coupe, also where i got the cupholders

i dont plan on making it work, since i do have an aftermarket radio already.

the tabs are mising on the other side.
you can see in the picture the tabs for the screws are there.

yea, but thats where the stock sun roof switch goes, you can see in in one of the pics. Im pretty sure everyone and their mom on this board has seen these pictures of your home made foglight switch already, lol.

The only thing im going to fabricate for the switches is the foglight switch, and thats because its almost impossible to come across one. And even at that, its not really fabricating, im simply just switching the picture, and changing the cover on the little led.

the tabs i'm talking about are not the four ears with holes, right next to them on the cruise side there is a second set, look at the plastic ears on the cruise switch where there are two screws, those tabs are missing. it wouldn't be hard at all to weld in some. i had looked into this with another cruise switch, and i had noticed they are missing. if you want to sell the control i might buy it from you. i don't need the slip ring, would probably make it rf. to control a second remote for my stereo. that way it can be battery powered. are there any parts you need might trade with you on something also if you want. i might eventually do another one of those switches just for a how to,i kind of like having the fog lamp switch higher up,it's easier to find in the dark.

ok i dug through the cobwebs and nasty crap above my shop and found a wheel core. this is the side where the cruise goes, there are double holes, one is threaded for the cruise and the other set is for the bolts that hold the wheel together. http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_184_full.jpg
now here is the other side notice the only set of holes is to hold the wheel together. http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_185_full.jpg
i don't think it would be hard to make this work you would need to weld on tabs on the side where the stereo control goes. then just tap them with the proper metric thread. you will need to cut on the rear wheel cover, but if you do it carefully it would look good.
