SOCAL/ORANGE COUNTY MEET sep 24

ok, ok im new to this site and i started one thread, some people there want to have a meet for socal members, particulaly orange county, but of course everyone is welcome (by that i mean san diego, riverside, so on and so forth). I was thinking somewhere in the middle of oc, like orange or anaheim. both are close to me but of course majority rules, so whatever you guys want. i was thinking at Century 25 theaters in Orange. its right behind the anaheim pond on Katella right before Main street. its a big parking lot so i think it would be cool. if not someone mentioned at the top floor of the La brea Mall parking lot.

I would say, since its a saturday to do it in the evening. or afternoon, so people that have something to do during the night dont have to cancel their plans.

SO WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK? ARE YOU UP FOR IT? of course time and place arent set in stone so suggestions are welcome. Ill get a list going of people that are going to attend.

hell yeah count me in. i just hope my car is done. i just dropped a new tranny in. well not new but used from the junk yard and a new ACT stage three clutch. well the clutch works great but the tranny ended up being even worse than the one that was originally in there. and now i have a massive grinding sound that only happens when the rpm is at around 2k. i dont know if its the tranny or if i am about to spin a rod bearing. hopfuly its just the tranny cuz i am trading the the new one back for another one. if i put the third tranny in and its still there then i got to save for my new pistons and rods and the rest of my bottom end. but if all goes well, i'll definitly be there.

Hopefully i can get my idle problem situated.. It's really buggin'. Its not really a problem, per-say, but it idles roughly under 1000 rpms and it sucks. Haha.. I should be able to fix it though. Just going to take a bit more work.

As far as cameras, i have a camera, but its not really that great.. It's small, but can take alot of pictures. Not to mention that the flash uses up alot of the battery.. It's auto-charged via the usb port in my computer.

Anywho. We won't get hassled or anything by any parking lot security guys, will we?

Well i would love to go, but Bluebarry is getting her make over. And my licence was suspended but im taking care of that on this next check so i could at least drive. But i could take Raven (94 red SVX). Ive been going through alot and just about everyone knows how much i hated missing the track meet for my stupid sisters wedding. so i'll make damn sure i make it to this one even if its with another car. But it'll be worth the wait.

well cory, you could drive down the street and bug me at my work if no one shows....Actually any of you can. Um, right now, im scheduled off at 5, but ill try to get off at 3 or even earlier if i can help it.

I wanted to ask if anyone could help me put my springs and shocks in on friday afternoon/night. I read the how to, but i am predicting i will have a hard time, i just dont have the proper equipment. I am willing to drive to someones house if they have air tools/impact gun or just feel comfortable working at home. If anything, ill just get them installed after the meet, i have a couple of people that will help me, they just can help me out as soon as i want. Ill buy whoever helps food and drink(whatever you like). Maybe we can get a couple of guys together and make this a mini meet...

I'll help. I have a pretty good idea on how to install them. Though i figure the only tools you'd need (if you dont have access to the air tools) is a good breaker bar, a torque wrench, and the right size sockets. Oh, and if you havent gotten the springs mounted to the struts yet, you'll need to take them somewhere to do that. Haha.

If adam comes to the meet, which i doubt, i'm sure he'd be willing to bring all the tools needed.. He takes his struts and springs off all the time. :)

EDIT: Oh, and yeah, we can all go bug kevin at his work if anyone wants to, lol. I know how to get there. :)

Oh yea, just to let everyone know cause i know almost none of you have been to the brea mall, there are two parking structures. Theres one that is on birch st, and that IS NOT the one. The one we are going to is the one on randolph. Ive heard one person tell me that they think well get kicked out, if that does happen(which it probably wont) we can always go down birch street, there are a pair of movie theaters and with them a pair of parking structures, one of which has 3 basement floors which are ALWAYS empty. So i think were in good hands no matter what.

The job's done! Kevin's car is now DROPPED! It was a definiite time consumer, but it was always that first strut on either the front or back that took the longest. The seconds werent hard at all..

REALLY sorry 88turboaccord, and whoever else didnt make it out... Though, if it cost you 35$ to get out there, your car must be gettign seriously bad gas mileage.

We ended up going back to the parking structure after about 1 hr.. We were parked at the top in one of the corners, there was 3 people there when we went back, that was probably around 3 AT THE LATEST. We hung out there for a few hours, and ate in the mall, and then we left. It was already getting dark by the time we left...
