ok i have to redo my hatch covers again, the material was defective and had bad uv protectors,in other words it faded big time in a short time,I took some pics as i was working on it. the one attached to the hatch, had to be shortened slightly because it was tearing up the weather strip, the red velour on the bottom side of it isn't available anymore,so it had to be carefully peeled back and restreched. the top is being completly redone.http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_213_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_210_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_211_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_209_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_208_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_214_full.jpg http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_215_full.jpg I'll keep posting pics as the project progresses

I've never owned a hatch so I have no idea what part that is.

that the part that lifts up with the hatch and cover the back when it's closed, there is another part that goes over the rest of it,i am going to work on it tomorrow, the part i am working on now had to be made because it was missing, honda wants like 300 bucks for that little part. i made it a long time ago but i was having problems with it hitting the weatherstrip and with fading. it's the part at the very back under the window, with the plate on it,i got rid of that and the flames. the part nearer to the back seat is what i have to do next http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_8_full.jpg

It doesn't hit the weather strip anymore, and i didn't have to destroy my pimp red velour inside the hatch eithier, all i need now is a new weatherstrip :)

ok a few more installed, you can see how badly faded the other black became very quickly. I have two of those fold up windshield things, i'm going to start putting one in the back window too. http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_222_full.jpg
you can see better here how much sun damage it did,all that from the aluminum trim to the back was the same color black, the georgia sun is brutal.

the bottom side is pimp red :)

the red inserts in the flip up part, these are all inside of the hatch area,i put the original dome light in that part and filled in the pocket areas on the top.

(vtec much>?!) anyway lemme know, see, what you need and i'll ship it to you...

I'll check to see what i need,i wish i had been able to get those parts a few years ago. :sad2: most of them are redone now. If i don't use some of the parts don't throw them away, someone on here will want them. hatch parts are hard to find. especially that shelf. what i need the most are the latches from both sides. the parts attached to the car unscrew from the bottom of those pieces that hold the speaker assemblies up. there are a couple of clips and stuff and the sliders. both my sliders are broke, i also need the pieces that stick out from the cover. and go in the sliders, the pins. when i get these fixed i'm going to put in a small gas charged strut, under the shelf so i can unlatch the front part and it will rise up on it's own. thats why i upholsterd the bottom side of it. http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/10/web/2050000-2050999/2050019_226_full.jpg you can see how much sun damage there is,that material was black.

my right (pass.) side clip thing has one corner missing it still slides up and locks but it's broken i guess, works though just a flaw in looks per say... anyways i'd be happy to ship em to ya you wanna just pay shipping??? i could send you everything i've got to get rid of if you'd pay the shipping on it... or pick up i'm in indiana... so lemme know... from 47448

you should get the windows tinted, then nothing will fade very easily.

you should get the windows tinted, then nothing will fade very easily.thats probably what i'll do, the cops here like to pull over cars with tinted windows though, the tint is legal but they find reasons to pull you over because of it. lets see, old honda, loud exaust, custom parts, window tint. i might as well get a bumper sticker that says please pull me over i've got free donuts.

all right back on topic,I had to redo the hatch area floorboard again,I'm talking about the one that sits over the top of the spare tire, i had made mine from wood and covered it with black carpet, i had taken someone to the grocery store and they spilled a half a gallon of milk in there. my car smelled like a dead animal! :ugh: . so anyway the entire thing had to go.i used the old one as a pattern. this time i put an access panel in the stupid thing so i could stow tools and things in the spare tire. anyway i'l get some pics in daylight,my camera hates the dark,I used the same carpet on the seat backs, and the area where the fuel pump acess holes are flips back, the carpet on the seat backs tucks under that panel. that way i can remove the seats in like five minutes. I did the rear cover panel in the back of the hatch over the lights, in the same material as the hatch cover.hey does anyone know a good paint that will work on the plastic cover pieces in the back? i'm talking about the two big ones on eithier side. i painted them once but the paint is flaking off.

Nice work coming along with the interior. What kind of shape is the motor under the hood in ? Besides all the mods. & all.. Like miles on the motor?

Nice work coming along with the interior. What kind of shape is the motor under the hood in ? Besides all the mods. & all.. Like miles on the motor?oh, well the internal work was done right before i got it,so i'm not sure off the top of my head how many miles since being rebuilt. i know the car has 265000 miles on it. i've gone through most everything at some point or another, and it's in really solid shape for it's age. it's always been a southern car so it's just got minor rust here and there. that's being taken care of at the moment. paint this fall and it should look nice too. runs like a watch, i had a lot of problems with the carb controls at first, but i spent two months tearing that apart and rebuilding it. I have replaced most of the motor seals since i've owned it,new timing belt, new valve stem seals, cam was in beautiful shape by the way, it's not stock but it looked brand new. what else? melling high volume oil pump, centerforce clutch, I know it has different pistons and rods, not sure of the brand, new motor mounts, radiator,it will be getting an oil cooler soon, just for the sake of traffic, I run it at 90 plus a lot of times on the open roads around here and it doesn't even run warm, but sitting idling is terrible on it. battery, all new hoses radiator and heater core, new heater core itself, complete brake system overhaul,i'll have to think of the rest. i know i have put the price of a new small car just into replacment parts alone. 10000 plus at least. (gulp) but i love my car. I guess thats not bad for a custom vechicle, thats another reason i make my own custom stuff, I can't afford to buy it

Anyway, I need to do my interior sometime. My motor is next. I'm a crankshaft, piston, main & rod bearing kind of dude. Not much on heming/ gluing fabric together. Even though if I had the time, sure I could do it.

you're good. i don't think i could get anywhere near that nice of a look in mine. i would love to completely replace the engine bay. then i'd love to replace my rear taillight assembly in the trunk lid. redoing my interior in the beige leather would be the ultimate project. basically i wanna redo my whole car and improve it overall.
