currently i am in the process of doing a 5 speed swap as my auto crapped out on me. what im wondering is, do i need to replace the pilot bearing? ive read mixed results on here saying that 86-87 ones need one and 88-89 ones dont. the thing is, i am using a transmission from an 89 accord in my 86 accord, so can anyone give me a clue as to what to do?

hondas doen't have pilot bearings.
the only thing you should watch out is for the whole in the flywheel and the end of main shaft.
measure the end of main shaft (the little tip, that will slide into the flywheel). and measure the center whole in the flywheel. They should be the same or very very very close to each other.
if they are diff, you may want to look for another tranny or diff flywheel.

one other thing i wanted to know, when i got the transmission out, i forgot to get the mount and the bolts for it, can i use the auto mounts and bolts on my standard?
