I was driving and my car started to smoke and the temp gauge shot up so I pulled over and looked under the hood and there was a hole in the hose that is right under the dizzy that holds oil. So I tried to do a path job on it to get me home being that the hole was right where it attaches to the tube. Put oil in it then started it up no leaks but the temp gauge doesn't read and after a few seconds it starts to surge, I'm taking it to the shop tomarrow but just wanted to know what you guys think is wrong with it. Also the rpms run above 2000. And there are no lights that come on in the dash. thanks.

i don't think it is your oil line. it sounds like coolant line.
sounds like you have a hole in a coolant line and you lost all the coolant. That is why your car is not running right.
check the coolant level and top it off if need it.

It's oil. the puddle that was left was oil plus there was no oil in the pan

i don't see how can you loose oil from the engine, since there are no engine oil lines.
you must be talking about auto tranny oil lines. you may want to check that.

It's the head gasket, guess the hose just happened at the same time

are you sure you didn't lose all your oil and then the car overheated and blew a hose out? there are no oil lines there whatsoever. there is a distributor o ring that if it goes wil cause a bad leak right there. there are both heater hoses that connect right there, the radiator hose connects right there, the other radiator hose that goes to the water pump crossover pipe connects right there. if you broke a coolant hose and oil came out, you've got much worse problems then that. oh the egr tube runs right under the dis. there should be nothing in that.

that is what i said. there is not way you could have busted any oil hoses.
plus you even said your self that engine overheated and smoked. well, when coolant hose bust, it will spit the coolant all over the engine and it will get on exhaust manifold and it will smoke like crazy.

exact same thing happened to me a year back and most probably the thread got deleted since i cant find it. Anywho, its the coolant line that runs to the heater core. Also we do not have any exposed oil lines anyway. The only lines are the power steering lines.

if it's that bad you really need to flush your cooling system, you might even need to pull te radiator and flush it with a garden hose.
