fuel pump I got at the junkyard

hey everyone. I'm finishing up my FI conversion and everything is all clear except I'm not getting fuel to the engine. I think I've pinpointed it to the fuel pump I got. I placed it in a cup of water and connected it to the battery and I got nothing coming out the top. The pump turns on you can hear it but nothing comes out. Is it safe to say the fuel pump is bad?

I tried this with the carb'd pump once and it worked. Maybe the fi fuel pump is different?

it may be the main relay. try to search about the main relay problem
this control the fuel pump and other things, age use to crack solder and relay fails. then you need to resolder dry joints.

I can hear the main relay click on and off

also I checked for voltage at the fuel pump connector on the wiring harness and I got voltage

I think the main relay is fine
