Did some work under the hood!The valve cover was stock black,and the intake was chrome.I'm going to change the boots/hose to red shortly. Enjoy!

it looks good, but I think red would be a bit much for the boots and hoses. The gold really accents the engine bay well.

I decided to go with 5oo degree primer, then 2oo degree gold, then 5oo degree clear coat. Seems to be holding up beautifully.

I still need to do mine, but nothing gets done until i get paid thursday. We should meet up saturday at 5:45 somewhere, and hopefully ill have all the wire/connectors i need to upgrade my engine grounds and relocate my battery, and maybe we can get that mesh in and repaint my valve cover... hmmmmm plans plans lol

I honestly think the Gold/Black theme would work well, just get some black connectors like what i have, and call it good. Maybe paint the silver clamps the same gold as your valve cover to accent it

It looks decent, definitely not something I would do as wrinkle paint increases surface area to have better cooling (what a load of bull).


That mugen oil cap must've cost more than the intake itself! I say take a darker gold that matches the mugen oil cap and it will look twice as good! Take a look at new spark plug wires, like neuspeed (yellow) or something to go accent the darker gold from the mugen oil cap. Also a nice DC Sports header would look nice too (if you can find one :( )


Just please don't over do the accents as that will be the fate of it. =X

Living here is basically a torture. Perhaps the globe is all like this. Now I can understand those north americans who hate "mexicans"(latinos). I just got new plug wires. LOL. They are stock for now. I'm not going to over do the accents, trust me. Why do you think my intake is black? I like the clean and simple import. Not none of this rice shit!!! And as far as Mugen becoming ricey...well, I doubt it. But I dont know what to tell you. Although with most things that became ricey, I do see where you are coming from. As far as painting my valve cover darker. I think I'll just get another mugen oil cap in a different color to match this valve cover. :naughty: LOL. Then have a different color valve cover to match the cap I have now. It's nice to change things up a bit. LOL. I have a pacesetter header on there. But no matter what high temp paint I decide to paint it with it always flakes. :dunno:So...yea.

All I would comment is that the intake was silver/chrome colored in the first place to reduce heat transferred to the incoming air.... Other than that it looks real nice!!! :cool:

Nate. Would I ever paint anything without prepping it first? I Wet sanded it and got all the inperfections out. Then primed it/painted/clear.
