awkward PS question

i cut the 2 lines going from the steering rack to the speed sensor on my auto tranny. right now, all the fluids pretty much drained out of the resevoir. can i just put the fluid in after i get it all back together or do i have to bleed the system or something. i dont think bleeding would be nessecary as there is a return line to the resevoir

Just turn the steering wheel from lock to lock slowly. Couple times back and forth and then check the level. That should do it.
