Well, for my 18th birthday, my dad gave me ownership of the car (YES!!!!)

ive been putting it off long enough, and my muffler is rusting off, so its time for a new exhaust system

ive done alot of reading for the last 6 months at least about exhaust systems/setups and heres what i know i want

2.25" piping from the cat back (im thinking press bent, since this wud be my first engine mod, mandrel wudnt be that important)
remove the cat, replace with straight pipe
one long resonator (not exactly sure on length)

heres what im not too sure about

a muffler.....

im not going for ginourmous rice cannon mufflers, but i do like the straight thru coffee can with the angled tip (like a Fireball muffler, but those are cheap shit that u can get for 10 bucks off ebay)

also, how much is too high to pay for all this?
any input wud be greatly appreciated

edit

something like this, any links wud be greatly appreciated

That magnaflow looks nice.
You might want to get the street series if you're not planing to build the car much.

Here is what they list on their site:
CID: 150-200 / HP: 100 to 150 / DIAMETER: 2" to 2-1/4"

OUR ENGINE CID: 119

I was amazed at how deep this muffler was when I installed in on stock 1.75" piping.
BUDDY CLUB PRO SPEC III - UNIVERSAL (http://www.inlinefour.com/budclubspeci3.html)

When installing the exhaust... if the tip exits below the car and before the bumper it will make it sound louder inside the car cause it will vibrate the body of the car.

if you bring in the muffler, high flow cat, and resonator TO the shop, $100 is fair to weld it all in place, and run new catback piping. if you buy parts at the muffler shop, expect to pay roughly 4 times ebay prices...

luckily i hear nothing but positive comments on the place im taking it, the guy does really good work, lifetime warranties everything he puts in, and has fair prices so not many worries there.

i am just gonna go with a straight pipe for the cat, since there are no exhaust laws here. some of the mufflers on that site are really cool, but way expensive, like this one for example http://www.inlinefour.com/tanracunmuf.html

is 190 way too much for a muffler like that??

i say go with an oval magnaflo or dynamax. All the others are just cannons.

if you like a cannon, thats similar to the one you posted.

yeah dynamax super turbo would be a good choice if you dont want to make noise...

I think that price for a muffler only is out of line. I paid about $140 for my Borla and another $70 (??) for a tip, both stainless.

I'd think twice about getting anything too loud, even if it's legal. I think the sound might be attractive once in a while, but would eventually grate on your ears and just be annoying. Besides, it'll interfere with any good sound system.

I'm really happy with the Borla, muffler only. It's very quiet, actually, but the tone is different, not the decibel level, and that's what's nice.

go with the dynamax super turbo, i have that on my car with 2 1/4" piping, got it all for $180 installed, i think thats a good price...and it sounds sweet, not ricy at all
