Fixing a dent in the roof?

nah, where the rear washer was i put in a fiberglass piece and hid an xm antenna under it. the car isn't as bad as it looks it's just all the tiny dings require removing paint to repair. i am trying to use as little filler as possible,it's mostly metal work with just a very thin layer of filler. it looked fine until i started finding all the years of small damage. if you want the paint to look good you have to fix all that. i also removed the factory antenna from the roof,i always hated those antennas. that was done the same way you do shaved door handles, by fitting in a metal piece and welding it up.

How did your wife repair the fender like that? i've got that same thing with my accord due to my accident.

it's all done with hammer and dolly work, you take the fender off and do it that way. the metal on these cars is really easy to work,i was suprised,so was my teacher at the school. my wife had never done anything like this before, she just has a skill for it. :)

for auto collision i really would have liked to go to wyotech or hot rod university but they don't have those schools here. my wife is taking auto collision with me. after that is automotive tech. your car is looking good, it's cool to see people taking the time to fix them up, i see so many of them going around with major damage and no one cares.

Tim, I can't tell you many hours I put into body work on my car.. I'm no body man, but body work takes some time to get looking right. Have you figured out what you color scheme is & color yet? You painting it yourself or having it done?

Tim, I can't tell khow many hours I put into body work on my car.. I'm no body man, but body work takes some to get looking right. Have you figured out what you color scheme is & color yet? You painting it yourself or having it done?yea my wife and i are going for the panda look,i always liked black and whit hatches. fenders black and anything below the trim is going to be black, also the raised part of the hood and the hood scoop, nice and simple. we have to finish a shallow area on the drivers side rear quarter panel, and finish fixing the corner under the rear trim where it got crunched. the most tedious stuff is all the years of little dings and dents that happen. especially on the lower rear quarters. those have to be completly straight to be black. I also have to paint another hatch i've got and install it, everything in it has to be tnsferred from the old one including the wing. I don't think this is the original hatch because it has a lot of rust and the rest of the car doesn't. maby collision damage. we got the rear trim piece under the taillights fixed last quarter, you would not believe how hard those are to find. we finally just had to replace a bunch of the metal in it and use it. it was swiss cheese. as far as painting my wife and i are going to paint it our selves at the school,we've got a seiko paint booth that is only a couple of years old. :) I will be taking lots of pictures of course.
