Thanks guys! I appreciate the nomination and all the votes! Unfortunately on monday when I was driving home, the car began a small electrical fire underneath the dash and in the steering column. She got towed away for the insurance company to see, I'll know by friday or monday at the absoloute latest if its going to see the road again. Personally I don't think it will. I think its more of a safety issue at this point. I'm glad it won while she was still driveable! Thanks again!

Yea, it was pretty funny when it was happening. My battery light was flickering on and off so i figured the alternator. Then as me and my buddy were driving i smelt a smoking. He says to me "Henry man, is your car on fire?" I stop and think a bit more. The smoke begins to pour from the steering column, and the car turns off. I turn to my buddy "Yes greg, the car is on fire! its on fire man!". My buddy tried to bail out of the car before i even had it stopped and pulled over lol, he took right off when i stopped. I popped the hood and looked. All the smoking was gone but the car wouldn't start anymore and there was a bunch of solder all over the floor mat and the key was way too hot to touch! Ended up grabbing my amps and important things and walked home.

I also heard back from autopac today, the lady set up a date and time to meet to discuss wether the car is going to be repaired or not, October 21st. In the mean time they are going to find out the cause of the fire. I don't even know what I want anymore with this car lol. Its been through so much lately. All I know is that I need a car because bumming rides and walking really sucks ass! I'll update this thread when i know more.

Wow what a story. Maybe you can get a steering column from the junk yard and a new harness. But congrats anyway. That is still one nice ride.

Make sure you get top dollar (from the insurance company) if the car is a total loss.

Hey guys, Ilive in Grove city also.... I have a 89 accord for about a year now, bought for the gas mileage, all stock.... Maybe we could get together to pick one of your guy's mind about the problem that I am having with mine. Sorry to hear about the fire. It sure sucks. My freind had a 78 ford f150 show truck burn to the ground, didnt get crap out of the insurence company....

Anyways, I talked to Honda today and said they can do the repairs for under $200. So the car will be goin again soon! Made my day haha! I was screwed come the 17th. :bowrofl:
