Guys,

I'm trying to put back together an 84 accord. Actually, I've got 3

The carburator is flooding, gas is actually pouring in thru a vent in the secondary throttle.

The car had a bad fuel pump relay which I've bypassed at the moment. Would bypassing the relay be enough to cause the flood?

I have some more reading to do but it seems with all the vaccum controls on that motor it could be designed to use the vaccum to control some of the functions on the carb. Could it be vaccum / switch related?

I installed what I was fairly sure was a good working carb but both flooded the same way so I'm faily sure it's not the carb itself.

A push in the right direction would be appreciated.

Is yours 2bbl or 3bbl?

some parts on the carb need vacuum to stay closed, at least on the 2bbl... like the Powervalve which richens the fuel mixture, when vacuum is not present.

it's a 3 barrell... The carb I used cam off a car that has been parked for the past 12 years due to a bad fuel pump and relay.

Right now, I'm leaning toward a stuck needle valve, I guess I thought it was a strange that 2 carbs had the same issue.

:uh: I graduated HS in 81 so Cheeseburger, you must still be a baby
