Issues with the board - list them

If everyone could list the problems they're experiencing with the board since the upgrade, we'd appreciate it. Instead of 50 threads being posted throughout the board, just post it in here.

So far I have:

Avatars missing -fixed
Latest posts not showing up on main page -fixed
database errors when posting -fixed
no permission to view the subscriptions page -fixed

There is also a problem when creating new threads. People do multiple new threads without noticing. I had to delete a bunch of multiple new threads in the technical section. I couldn't physicaly delete them so I had soft delete them. -fixed

The number of replies isn't updated in the thread list.

Sometimes it doesn't go to the next screen when posting a new thread or a new post... that could be why there are multiple threads. I know I've done it a few times and I just delete the duplicates. -fixed

Ability to switch skins not working

I was able to switch skins earlier today. I have had trouble twice trying to access the Technical section, the screen says there is a server error.

I cannot get to the next page of any thread that was made after the upgrade and if a thread went more then one page long then it dosent show up on the thread screens. When the post dosent come through and it ask you to refresh or to talk to the technical staff if you refresh it make the post again if you dont then it just stays at 1 post. Try to get to page 8 of the engine mount thread on the Engine swap section. -fixed

Nah, if you edit the post within a certain time frame it doesn't show up... after a minuet or two then if you try to edit it, the edit will show.

A couple issues I noticed

Can't change skins via the quick link on the bottom of the 3geez homepage
Improper permissions when "Join the 3geez Foundation" is clicked -fixed, again
Statement at bottom of 3geez homepage about copyright it gone. ("All posts may be copyrighted by the author.") -fixed
Terms of Service link at bottom of main page is gone -fixed

Yeah but it's a little more user friendly I think, although I don't much care for the new moderation panel. Whatever though it still works for me.

We'll get the vehicles back up there, but I don't know about the user activity stuff. It was a pain in the ass to do, and when I was done, people bitched about it and thought it was stupid. Since activity info is mostly just for fun, I figure I'd rather do stuff that everyone likes.

ok i'm not sure if you are going to do the user types again,but if you do why not get someone to scan some of the emblems such as dx lx sei etc. then put them up there like gifs. :) just an idea, hopefully no one turns the flamethrowers on me. :beat:

I think we still have user types, I dunno if we want to give everyone their own gifs... maybe if it was in the 1K range... like 30X30 pixles or 50X50.

And if I say something wrong, correct me... I don't see why I'd argue with you.

I read the thread, so I apologize if this has been mentioned before, but today I previewed my post, and when I posted the reply, ALL THE SPACES (that I placed deliberately) between sentences were gone (everything was scrunched up).

I didn't notice this happening before today.

BTW, great job running this board. And props to the moderators, who do a great job.

P. S. - I had to add the spaces after previewing the post.

I don't have any problem editing posts or with spaces. In fact I don't have any issues with the board.

EDIT: Also, some of the issues I've had are one time things. Not sure what's up with that but it doesn't bother me. Another thing, Joe, why did lostforawhile see a post I deleted?

Just want to say I figured out why I was having problems with editing a post. I had to click on the "remember me" box. Took me some time to figure out why it was doing that, cause I never have used it before.

yea you had replied to this thread and it never showed up on the board so i just copied and pasted it from my email< i think it's fixed now,haven't had anymore major problems

vbgarage is a "work in progress".... The orginal person who created it, doesn't support it any more, meaning he doesn't do any upgrades. We are looking into alternatives, but it may take a few weeks

The Foundation ordering page has been fixed. vbGarage will most likely be replaced with a different format, hopefully in the coming weeks.

You might try emptying your temporary internet files and your cookies. I was having the same problem until I did so.

It's because there's a conflict when users join the OTX sub group. I'm going to have to work out a way to resolve it, but if you go into your Group Memberships and leave the OTX group, create your garage, and then rejoin it should work. Until I fix this, Foundation Members will have to leave the OTX group to edit their garages. Thanks for pointing that out.

What happens is, OTX users aren't allowed to create garages because if they were, any regular member could join OTX for free and get a garage. When a Foundation member joins OTX, there's a conflict and for some reason the OTX permission (or lack thereof) takes precedence.

I've worked a way around the issue between OTX and 3geez Garage. Access to OTX no longer requires membership in the public group. A disclaimer acknowledgement has replaced the process of joining the special group. All Foundation members should have no trouble now.

i tried to log in at the top of the main page today, and it repeatedly said, "Welcome back, getready", but then it'd show the main page again, and the login fields were clear again, and there was a little message saying that if this is my first time here, that i should register. I logged in like 20 times, before searching at the bottom of the page for a moderator to talk to..then sure enough, at the bottom of the page, it says that i'm on the list of logged in people.

I clicked my name, it took me to my profile, and now it seems like i'm online
