...but it's a Prelude :)

My 2.0i-16 Accord wont be staying outdoors on the roads much longer, so I bought myself a Prelude 2.0i-16 to drive around in through the winter :D

It has some rust on the outside, but the underbody is ok. It's also lowered.

Here's the only pics I've got so far:

10-19-2005, 07:56 AM
Yea it is a nice car, but it still isnt as nice to drive as my Accord in my opinion. Accords still owns preludes hehe

And those pics doesnt do the car any justice. ....It's more ugly in real life lol
But it was cheap, so I think that justifies it as a winter beater. I could fix it up, but damn I already have two Accords to take care of.

Jerk! j/k nice find...Denmark must be a treasure trove of clean running B20powered Hondas!!! Since when did Scandinavians make such friends with Japanese auto makers? LOL. Those wheels even look decent on that ride. Have fun with that...does it have AWS? or did you europeans miss out on that innovation? Yeah the 2nd Gen ludes here are not even close to that cool. :uh:

More like a treasure trove of old rusted to pieces honda's hehe. No there's a few of the 2nd gen B20 ludes around but theyre all pretty expencive whenever there's one for sale (except this one). The B20 Accords however are really really rare in Denmark.
We didnt miss out on the AWS invention, it's just that it wasnt introduced by honda before they released the 3rd gen ludes :slap: so there was never made any 2nd gens with AWS (not that I know of anyway)
It has the ALB (ABS) system though.

Looks good marthin! I think you definitely win the award for having the most b20s lol

sometimes I thinkthe 2nd gen lude is better than a 3g.
any way nice car , or I sholud say cars You have there TheGreatDane

one more thing, don't You think that the prelude 2nd gen and our accords
share the same engine mountings ?
I think that the A20A1 could be swaped into 3g accord. :-)

I'm looking for a rusted, cheap Accord sedan B20A2/8 or a 2nd Prelude with B20A1 for some time and no luck :(

Lok

Congrats mate, very nice and clean car!!! nice find again!!!!
Prelude 2G SI are quicker than Accord 3G 2.0I-16 on 0-62mph and 1/4 mile performance (100kg lighter than the Accord) but Accord 3G is faster on 0-100mph and max speed performance because of better aerodynamic.
all these for cars in stock form..........

thegreatdane
10-23-2005, 09:22 AM
Thanks Lok and P|eszczoH :) It's true that on paper the lude is faster than the Accord, but in reality it seems that my Accord is a bit faster afterall. Of course you have to realize that the prelude has 4 times the mileage of the Accord.
And yes the 2.0i-16 2nd gen ludes and the 3G accords shares the same mountings. (A friend of mine swapped a B20A1 into his Aerodeck without changing any mounts as far as I recall)
In Germany the 2.0i-16 preludes seems to be hard to find, I see more of them for sale here in Denmark.

That is so sweet :-)
Thanks TheGreatDane :-)

Any way, does Your friend still own the Aero ?
As a Fan of Aero Deck I'm hungry for infos :-)

The other Way, I love Your Cars TheGreatDane,

I cannot afford another car now, but I do what I can to keep My two Aerodecks the best way I Can.

I should post some pics here.... on the 3geez.

No, he doesnt have it anymore, he didnt get his engine assembled correctly so he never got it running, he had already spent so much money restoring it and buying new parts and getting it painted that he got fed up with it when he couldnt get it running, so he sold it to an autoshop. He had also swapped out the flip up lights with the fixed headlights from a sedan and he used a 4th gen accord front bumper with lip which looked pretty sweet. As far as I know it's still sitting at the autoshop collecting dust.
what plans do you have for your aerodecks?

P|eszczoH
10-23-2005, 02:36 PM
What a shame :(

What plans ? My head is full of thoughts, the only problem is the same always.
Money.

I would love to have a B20 under the hood, but its rather long term,
and I depends on some luck. Will I find the prelude or accord sedan with B20 in a bad shape but with good engine and gearbox for cheap.

I hope to buy Zimmerman rotors next year, maybe with some ebc green pads.
Also My AeroDecks need some typical maintenance.
You know Thegreatdane here in Poland, we do not earn much.
Lets say my friend from Germany spends for a gasoline in a month the same amount of money that I earn...
Also we had election for a president today, and the future is a big ?

I would love to do:
exhaust modif. - got a single down pipe on my A20A3, and two e.collectors from A20A2/4 with double down pipe, but no Lambda and that is a little problem.
Bilstein B6 no drop couse to bad roads or a drop like 1cm
Zimmerman rotors with some beter brake pads.
and my dream B20A under the hood at least at one Accord.

What I did:
I've got my droped Aero back to the stock hight :-)
rebuild front suspension, just need to replace the rubber that hold stabiliser.
I'm in a half way to have underbody protected for the winter in one car, and another is protected already.
new stering wheel.
aftermarket halogens on one car.
I've had done some bodywork to one Accord last spring.
I've one Aero for a parts donor bought for cheap :-)

Also I've got a momo stering wheel needs to be covered with new lather for the second car.

As for a engine mod, If I dont find a B20, I'm planning to have a cam regrind done, maybe some head work.
I've almost done a warming mirrors in both cars - need to wire thing up.

but like I say, everything deepends on money.
Maybe I'll lose my job one day and everythig will f*** up.

I would love to run away from here. I love polish v. preety girls,
but it's just very, very hard to live here.

Oh My God, give this car to Me,

or at least I can swap it to my Aero :-)

and one more thing, REAR WINDOW WIPER RARE!!!!

12-13-2006, 09:18 AM
From sweet--->not so sweet. At least it is worth fixing it when the rest of the car is so good with that low mileage.

Mine is not so purdy anymore either, here's what happened last friday:

http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/8333/billede412ke4.jpg

Funny the damage looks similar.

That's what a very wet road, tires almost worn down to 1.6mm and some idiot a couple of cars infront of you overlooking a non moving line of cars in front of him making an emergency braking will do for you.

But it's back on the road again and I havent replaced a single part yet lol. It doesnt look too healthy anymore though hehe
It's not worth it to replace the front end on it. Only got 1 year more to go then it's off to the junkyard

hey Guys, I will post here couse that is strange
This is My second Aerodeck, that My Mom drives...
this summer, she was passing thru the cross road on green light, when the lady in some renault clio turned left just in front of her and she goes...

http://www.republika.pl/pieszczoh/ROZBITA12.JPG

But the car is all done now, and again on the road. My Mom loves it.

Yeah it's always a pain when people know how rare their car is.

A woman came to the store where I work today with a 99 Civic Si. It was so clean! I got to put her groceries in it.

over here Hondas are marketed as cheap econo-cars, and they're a dime-a-dozen, so people don't care much about them

Second gen ludes getting rare even in Germany in Europe, in Poland too,
and 3gen accord are getting rare too.

Finding well kept old car , doesnt matter is it golf or accord in Poland is even harder... People dont have money for well maintanance of a car...

...but hey I believe that newer cars are not so longlasting as cars from 70 and 80 were.
