well i found the source of my oil drip, i had used some of that plastic oil pressure line between the hard copper line on the engine and the oil pressure manifold, that stuff isn't worth a crap. It had split almost in two right at the junction between the two parts of the line. it was anchored in place too. I ended up using a replacment grease hose i bought for five dollars,it has swaged fittings that are pressed on,and is rated for 10000 psi. I don't think i have to worry about it bursting anytime soon. it already had 1/8 npt fittings on both ends also. all a grease hose is is a hydralic hose. and for five bucks i couldn't have had one made. the line from the engine to the junction is just 1/8 copper. everyone keeps asking what the aluminum thing on my firewall is so i took some pics while it was apart.
this is the oil distribution block everyone keeps asking about, it is an aluminum block with oil passages in it that send oil to a pressure warning switch,an underhood gauge, and out to the gauge in the car.

this is where the oil from the engine block comes in

this where the small plastic oil line used to come in from the engine block,it now has a nice hydralic line.

this is the junction between the metal line from the block and the hydralic line connect, this is where the plastic line broke halfway in two.

I will never use one of those plastic lines again,it might have broken completly in two and sprayed oil everywhere. :uh:

Is the plastic like that big black one?

The micro-line plastic line for my gauge is fine.

i use aircraft quality stainless braided lines in my car, i cant afford oil line failures

it was one of those clear plastic ones that come in a kit,it wasn't stressed or anything,it just got brittle from the heat and failed. the large rubber line is a hydraulic hose that i just put in. that one is heat rated, and rated to 10000 psi constant working pressure,it is for a grease gun but it had all the charcteristics i wanted. I have a lot of AN braided stainless under my hood too. you think those small pressure hoses would be decent if they are made by a reputable manufacturer but i guess not. I will eventually replace the hydraulic hose with an braided stainless too.
