ok with that can i sue the ocmpuer form the 89 in my 87? what are the diffrences probally besides the color of the wires on the plugs and such

the 86/87 ECU was meant to be used on those years only, same with the 88/89 only being used in those years only. the 88/89 ECUS were different cause honda decided to improve their engine in the accords giving it more HP and the ability to use a second O2 sensor. their not interchangable

i think the ecu controls the butterflys in teh 88-89 intakes, im not sure if its vacuum actuated or not...

88-89 had 9.2:1 compression and 2 stage intakes, and debatably better cams (i thought they were all same)
86-87 had 8.8:1 compression and single runner intakes... that makes up for the 'better' engine, but teh ecu is setup to control the motor setup like that. so its optimised for higher compression, which is 'better'...
