Those pics are several years old. Some guy had a complete write up about his progress and pics of it. And if I remember correctly, he abandoned the project because it was too difficult. This kid is probably stealing those pics. Stuff like this irritates me.

why do people always think that? The a20 is Cast Iron block, h22 all aluminum.
has anyone actually done a real weight comparison? No.

A fully tooled up A20 weighs about the same as a B20A and thats all alluminum, the blocks themselves bare are a lot lighter but by time you add the caps, crank, rods and cap supports it weighs nearly as much as an A20, and as a H22 is slightly bigger in dimensions their probably not that much a difference, depends if you intend on junking the PS, AC etc. If you dump all of those and remove all their associated bits and bobs probably doesn't add any extra weight to the front probably be a lot less than stock with all the extras. H22 is still not the best choice, I don't know why no one hasn't tried putting a Ford engine in a new Duratec would be ideal, cheap to buy brand new big CC and not that heavy and their real easy to get 250bhp out of without toomany serious mods. Their used in loads of Kitcars as well as in every mondeo and Focus for last couple of years.

i think the reason people thing the H22 or even sometimes the B20 are real heavy is because they dont know about their correct weights. looks are decieving. just because the A20 looks smaller, its using more or less the same amount of materials i suppose. just the B20 and H22 are expanded around the internals. anyway, if this dude did the the H22 swap, good for him. i hope he did and can get more pix and other proof.

its not that we wont believe it, its just that we have been lied to by quite a number of other folks. here we like to keep it on a level of realness on 3geez, not things imagined or falsified. i think that pretty much sums up what we feel and want. we want truth and proof. guess being that its over the internet sometimes gets to be unbelieveable until sufficient proof is shown.

just since i happened to see this right after my post. well i was quoted something around $2700 for engine, transmission, all hardwear, fuel lines and all for a B18C. B16 with Vtec head was a little cheaper, but around the same price. B20 was about the same too. i never asked what an H series swap would run for my car, but i'd expect to pay more. this was from a local shop that has done many of the swaps for people in surrounding areas and local. there's new shops opening up right now. i just saw a new add on TV for a new shop that does engine swaps. looks like i should check it out for myself.

Well, I heard of some website where a friend of mine got a 2002 Grand Prix 3400 v6 with tranny and wiring harness for 700 dollars and a 6 month warranty with free delivery. A website where you can find just about any motor. But, I'd imagine b16's are more sought after.

Anyway, about the first part of the post which I didnt quote because it wasnt funny, I said that. I know that the GM motors cant be demanded as much as the Honda VTEC's.

Also, I just saw pics of johnny o's car with the a20, how do you turbo something like that without it blowing up? Also, he didnt h22 it yet, did he? On another note, I will soon start a rumor that I swapped a K series in my car.

2000-4000 just for the motorset stuff. you will need wiring harness changed, and custom mounts and axles, price on that depends how crafty you are. could coast $100, could cost $2000 depends on who u know. :D EDIT, you probably also need custom shift linkage... and a few other tidbits which i am not aware of

Yes...but I don't own one of "these" cars...mine is a G2...much lighter and shorter wheel base...I'm just toying with the idea. Eventually I'd like to invest in building up a Honda DOHC for rallye w/ boost...but that's way down the road.

I just wanted to know if the ZC was worth building...I'm leaning towards LS/Vtec cause I hear nothing but good things about that. Yeah I'll do my homework before I jump on that. I want something light too because I need a nimble car for rallye no fabled H22 for me I wanna stick to 2.0L or 1.8L...right now its got a good old A20A3 NA.:)

well my brother has the DOHC ZC in his civic. its not a bad motor but i dont think you can get it in the 3gee and i also dont think itll be worth it. but hey its your car. im about to do the ZC swap im my civic in around another week maybe. im gonna buy a full motor and then drop it in. then ill buy a long block and build it up to run around 17-20 psi o boost. and do the ZC/Si hybrid trans build and put it in. ill have four really short gears and one reall long gear. ill let everyone know how it goes. its gonna be a nice sleeper once its finished. completely stock body and all sorts of 300 WHP under the hood!
