?"Projector" look lights on Ebay?

ok, as i am, i'm really into lighting on cars. anyway, i'm sure a lot of y'all have seen this on Ebay. its a conversion of sorts. i'm wondering if anyone has bought these. to me, it look like a mask that goes over the headlight. they dont really describe what it is in full. and the pictures arent detailed or close up enought to tell what they really are. i searched for these here on 3geez, but didnt find this same thing being talked about. anyone know what these really are?

they are just masks, or at least headlight housings....maybe the ebay 5 dollar h4 conversion kit..with a mask he glued on. stay away from them. i do like the idea of his front bumper lights. you could do about anything you want with a dremmel, some bondo and what ever lights you want. just get the car or bumper painted after.

well, i thought for $54.99 they would be like a spot light, or fog light type light put into there or something. i thought it was bogus the first time i saw it. guess everyone here is smart enough to get those. i wonder who actually has bought them and how many he actually sells? that's interesting anyway.

i decided to read the feedback. there is a lot of good feedback......but, if you read through it they say its a pos. guess its either paint or sticker material. i guess that'd look cool at night, but have no light on the road. i could make that with some vinal, which i of course will not be doing. but yeah, interesting none the less.

go to the dollar store and buy a self adhesive black vinyl floor tile and cut two tuna fish can sized holes in them then stick them on your head light. i bet that's what he did.
i saw that ad on ebay, i dont trust the way the guy words his auction sounds like he is trying to sell u a stick on thing with two holes in it.

what is the harness upgrade? is it the relay and wiring? and why dont you need it? your HID kit didnt use the H4 type plugs? does it keep my headlights from dimming like when my stereo is on? maybe i just need a capacitor.

Yes it is the relays and wireing. The HID kit came with all that and it only draws 35 watts, so I didn't need it. It takes the power directly from the battery through the relays, so I wouldn't think your lights would dim....mine never did and I have 2200 watts worth of amps for my stereo.

I bought these a few months back LOL.







Ok a little info in these, yes it is vynil on the outside, but you cant beat getting the best housing posible...............GLASS!!!!!!!!!!

No more plastic upgrade housings that will melt from high heat wattage lights anymore, you will get a fully glassed housing, not one bit of it is plastic. Only issue i have with them is somehow when my car goes through the carwash, it gets water in one of the housings. but with the day running lights (you know, those little blue bulbs they put in some of those plastic "upgrade" housings), thank go i removed those, cause they act as a drainning hole for the housings so i dont blow the bulbs.

Anyways, the lights that comes with the package is brighter than the stock bulbs. Not only that, like I mentioned earlier it has a full glassed housing. So now that you had ordered a glass housing, you can do the HID upgrade without having to worry about melting the plastic housings out there. I am already in the proccess of saving up for the HID upgrade set.

If you guys want pics of it, I can get some taken and post them up. Just let me know.


Oh BTW, for the water issue, i solved it quickly and bought some of the same material used for our taillight housing to prevent water from getting inside. and also used some silicone where the plug and rubber overlay is.

now that you had ordered a glass housing, you can do the HID upgrade without having to worry about melting the plastic housings out there.

Just so you guys know.........the HID's do not get that hot. The actual bulb only draws 35 watts. They are a lot less hot than my 100 watt zenons ever got.
The thing that gets hot is the ballast and ignitors. Because they are converting 20,000 volts to 35 watts.

maybe the guys at this shop didnt know anything, but they were telling me the HID bulbs do get pretty hot. they said after the 35watts is amplified it is of course converted to much higher wattage. i know the HID lights at my old work got hot as fuck.

they get very hot at the bulb. I play with a lot of hids. it gets so hot that the bulb glows for a few seconds after you turn them off.

thats still not a close up to where you can really see the lense. i'd rather forget about those, i'm working on some real projector headlights for my 3gee at the moment. i just need to figure out how i'm going to mount things in with the adjusting bolts. i still think those lights from ebay are a sham.

WTF? how the hell are theses supposed to work? seriously, how are they going to work if the refletor is black? the pricipal of light reflecting is not even there. and because they are fake projectors, same design as what i have on my car, the projector lense is nothing more than a piece of glass in front of the bulb. how the hell can they get away with selling these?!

those ones look ugly imho, might aswell put cardboard over your lights and cut 2 holes in it, seeing the lights are pop-ups, only put them up at night and no one would see the cardboard :P

damn you....im happy with my silverstars...i have them in both my cars....i still need to adjust my lights since one is always higher than the other...i think its a flip up light thing...lol

the point is, why would they sell a product like that? i mean i know for money and all, but OMG. something that will not even shine light, shouldnt that be illegal? it lies saying 70% more light output. thats just schisty. i cant stand to see crap like this being sold to people who dont know what they are looking at. i mean if they worked like the Hella Black Majic driving lights, that would be one thing. but i can clearly see its refletor is painted black. as for the ones with the holes cut out to look like dual projectors, thats crap too. dunno if they are still selling those. i havent looked again. just rediculous crap. i wanna see the feedback on the two new items i posted.

oh and none of the products would i ever buy. i already bought the projector look headlights that have the big lense in front of the bulb a few years back. look really nice, but not functional as a projector. i'm working on fitment of some fixed projector headlights currently and trying to design them to fit well. but otherwise, i would buy the hella E code H4 conversions or US spec ones. but never again crappy diamond type. they are shit.
