yes, those are 3rd gen. KONI ajustable struts!
I was about to leave when my girlfriend pointed out another 3g, I checked it out and there they were.
the price was a steal too,..................$25 for the set.

I'm thinking of picking up some Weapon R coilovers to use them with, what do you guys think?

Nice, I wise I was that lucky. Do they apear to be in good condition or are you going to send them in to be rebuilt?

id say find out how much it would be to rebuild them. might as well.....25 bucks plus price of rebuild? you have worry free 'brand new' shocks for half the price.

:omg: Asshole!!!!!!
What a find, send em in to have them rebuilt. And don't use cheap coilovers with those. That would be a waste.

Whoa that's a steal.

If you ever send them to be rebuild, have them made externaly adjustable.

Anyways, I'm sure they don'T need any rebuild yet.

I've got H&Rs with Tokicos on my car right now, so I may just use the H&Rs. I was thinking about the Weapon R coilovers so I can get my car a bit lower in front.
They still feel and look great, but I thought about getting them rebuilt. How much do you think it would cost to rebuild them with an external adjustment?

rebuilding them by themselves is already like $100 each. so to put externally adjustable is alot more.

Wow congratulations. I wish I live in US! Recently I have asked KONI UK workshop about the modification price for our shocks. Modifying to external adjustable is £75 (=approx. $140) per shock plus tax and shipping as it involves full OH. The price in Japan is more or less the same but I hope these price in US are cheaper. Other alternative is to make only the front ones adjustable. Some KONI sports (Yellow) kits are like that. In anyways, if you keep the car more than one year ahead, I will definately recommend to OH as you never know how it has been used before.

Awesome find. I expect that there are alot more in the junk yards accross the USA you just need to go and find them.

man, thats a great find. the best thing i've bought at the junk yard was probley my body kit which still needs mending or my prelude seats that were in perfect condition. the best thing i've found was a brand new supercharger on a wrecked T-bird. it was brand new, but of course what the hell am i gonna use it on? i could have bought it and sold it. well, tell us whats us with those struts, like what you do with them. yeah, get some nice quality warrenteed coils.

i'd go with good ole ground control myself.

My girlfriend loves cars, so she helps me when I work on mine. Her favorite thing to do is drain the oil.

As for the struts, I'm probably just gonna clean these up and store them for now till I decide to rebuild them or use them.

Rebuild 'em and profess you're undying devotion to your girl!

I just got a response from Koni, it'll cost me $140 each plus parts to rebuild them and an extra $45 each to make them external ajustable. DAMN! Thats a lot of cash I don't have. Almost $800, then there's still shipping. I may just use them as is.

the cool thing is, at that point, u can call up ground control, order a cusom set of coilovers with the exact spring rate you want, and then tell koni that u want specific rebound and dampening specs, based on said spring rates, and for 1100-1200 you have fricken awesome suspesion... a small price to pay!

also make sure when u order ground controls, that you get the ones that will work with koni/bilstien shocks, they ARE different than regular ground controls. :) they are very nice to work with and very cooperative people last time i called! between them and gordon at koni, you should be able to get a bitchen setup together
