I have an 88-89 intake manifold and throtle body in my shed, i believe the 88-89 intakes had dual stage. allowing the engine to get more air (power) at like 4000 rpm. aposed to the 86-87 intakes that where single. I was wondering if the 88-89 intakes manifold will bolt right up to a 86-86 head and pgmf-i system?
im really intrested in swaping and getting started on rebuilding a head i have on a stool in my room.
thanks for the help.

Yes the manifold will fit.

You'd need some way to control the solenoid that controls vacuum in the secondary diaphragm.

You could run an RPM switch and use that instead of using the stock 88-89 setup.

You'd need the:
- Solenoid
- RPM Switch
- Vacuum Holding Cannister
- 88-89 Intake Manifold

it will bolt up but i think some of the electronics are different. the dual stage from what i understand gives more power UNDER 4000 or so, and is about the same in the upper rpms. not totally sure on that though. :)
