My car is a 1987 Hatch incase you didn't know, and i'm looking into paint Opinions, here's my car btw:

As you can see my paint is Dark Blue Metallic Clearcoat B-33MZ-3, however i've heard that White is the cleanest color, i personaly love black and if you knew me you'd know that. Anyway Vote for what color my 3gee should be!

P.S. the local paint shop said they'd paint it for under $700 as long as it was a stock color option. (that's why most are stock colors...)

i think the Gothic Gray Metallic Clearcoat NH-92M-3, would look good. i'd say stay away from black. i love the color on the 3gee, but if you've ever had a black car, its a bitch. gets swirl marks more easily noticeable. then again, i love how white looks on a 3gee, but it gets dirty quickly. i have 2 gold accords, even when they get really dirty you can hardly tell. same with grey and silvers, they stay nicer looking with less work. personally, i'm trying to decide what i want to do on my 3gee. for my single color paint schemes, i'm either going to go with Champagne beige which the car is already painted, Naples gold metalic same as my '02 accord, or a silver metalic i still havent decided on. if i go two tone, its going to be red and black, thats my favorite when putting two colors together. i havent had anyone give me different prices because of color codes though, all colors of paint are usually about the same price. just as long as its not a color that is pattented like House of Kolors paints. those get expensive.

hmmm. i'll have to think about that thanx honda boy!

i would say the metalic red colour, the se-i i just bought is the metalic red and its winter time right now so the cars kinda dirty and i just pulled the motor out but if it wasnt the paint would be all waxed up and shinny and in the sunlight the metalic in it just shines, i really like it, thats my vote

i like the stock color. Or that "bustedblue" color, i saw his car in his thread and immediatly fell in love with that color. I want my car to be that color :)

Avoid black. It will show any imperfection in your bodywork. It's also retardedly hard to keep clean. Personally I'd keep it the same color as whatever the factory was, just to avoid having mismatched doorjambs and the lining of metal around the trunk, stuff like that.

The Blade Silver is the BEST silver color on 3g's. Mine was that color and I loved it. http://www.3geez.com/showthread.php?t=34770

Then why is it an option for a paint choice if you don't like the color? Doesn't make sense.

3rdgenhatchDX
12-17-2005, 11:36 AM
It's an option because of the price of paint, however since i've chosen Burnt Orange and Black i would've closed the poll options out, however i cannot close/change the poll options. Thanx for the input tho!

That color combination looks especially hot with the stock hubcaps. Many will disagree, but I love the stock 86-89 alloys, and the 86-87 wheelcovers.

Yeah GM calls it Sunburst Orange. *shrugs* But on an SS coblat I think I could even handle pink....Ewwww! But yey Your color combo would be unique and sick. Good luck.

I was thinking the metallic burnt orange as well but your right it's started to become less and less unique. I am in love with Metallic colors right now and as I’ve decided to paint my own car Graphite Metallic very similar to your color :-)

? i dunno, but the orange is def. making me wonder... why?! why?! fricken mass productions.

well, are you going to paint your car already or are you just going to admire how good that color looks on the element? Either paint it already, or lock this thread until you're done with all the body work or what ever you're going to do first.

edit: Sorry about the bitchyness of that, I'm just really excited to see what a 3g hatch would look like in that color. I rally want to see the new look!!

Ah and so it starts, Well i'm not gonna be able to purchase a paintjob, until i get my sunroof welded shut, being $300 and i'm sure it'll look like shit, i'm opting to keep it intact until i can caulk it shut in the spring, so sit tight.

That's cool, I know the whole paint thing takes time, and I didn't mean to sound like a bitch and flame you. I'm just really excited to see how absolutely gorgeous that burnt orange color will look. Be sure to come to one of the CLAC meets after you do get it painted. I really want to see it!
