When installing my latest try at revalved Bilsteins (see the Sticky thread for the whole story), my mechanic found that the lower control arm outer bushings were hopelessly frozen in place. His solution: put the car outside, and LIGHT THEM ON FIRE. Glad he told me about it afterwards.

i've seen this done quite a bit. don't be alarmed if they were being replaced anyway.
