just curious if theres such thing as a proper friction point for our cars. mine engages pretty high up and im not sure if its supposed to

Comfortable engagement point is about 3-4 inches off the floor. That puts some play at the top of the pedal with a good clutch. As your clutch wears, the friction point will rise. You need to adjust it on a regular basis to keep some play in the pedal. At some point, you will run out of adjustment on the cable, and the clutch will grab high. It's worn out at this point.
So, adjust it. Put some slack in the cable(turn the knob higher up on the threads).Your grab point should go down.
