Anybody seen this article yet? its in "HOME MECHANIX-LAWN CARE SCARE-MARCH 1986" Page 14. has lots of info, pix, and the ins and outs. it was published in '86 so the sedan pictured is carbed. i'm gonna try to get scans of it its 2 pages total. Also i bought a popular Mechanics 1987 magazine that states: in 1987 a honda accord hatchback was $9795 and a sedan was$10,625. However it has no pix, but i could scan that also... Anybody see this yet?

No link yet, it's not public.

The size of the other articles we have are roughly 828 X 1112 pixels. Doesn't need to be that exactly, but it's a good size that allows people to read the text.

Okay so the scans are huge, but the photobucket won't let me make em bigger, each image is acutally 25 MB. I don't have anyway to host such huge pix.

Are the scans in TIF format? Can you shrink them down to the size I mentioned above and save as JPG or PNG in greyscale? If you can do that, you should be able to get it under 1MB and use Imageshack.us to upload. Photobucket sucks.

 did anyone read the part about 0-60 in 10.3 seconds?
and then that was rated as "very good"

Lok

10.3 sec for 0-60mph acceleration is very respectable for one 2.0L family car weighting 1160kg (2560lbs) and powered with a single carbed engine (only 98hp).
Is very fast for late 80s family cars and is still very fast compared to the new Generation of family cars.

good for it's time? undoubtedly.
good enough for me? sure
good compared to anything in the new generation? sorry, but a minivan can leave us in the dust

Heater
(Average)

?

everyone who rides in my accord is like OMFG! this heater rox!

bang on about the oil filter though.

speedpenguin

maybe old cars have better heaters.
i like the two levers under my steering column that cut off airflow to the right or left sides in my hatch. i don't know if the 86 had those, though.
also no mention of the extremely comfortable seats. anyone who rides in my car loves the seats. even the backseat

Yes you are right. I forget that the majority of 3Geez member live in America.
But here in Europe Accord 2.0L Carbed has 106bhp (109hp) and weights only 1070kg, so they are still very fast when compared with the new family cars (especially in acceleration).
EFI models are even faster......

I don't normally use thread subscriptions, but for some reason I had this thread marked for notification whenever someone posted in it. Since there were issues with the URL's in the notifications, I just added a post to see for myself if I had fixed it.
