egr valve and rough idle

i took my egr valve off to clean it up b/c i failed the smog test. after putting everything back together and resetting the ecu, my car has a rough idle. i'm thinking there is a chance the egr gasket might be bad b/c i reused the old one. is it a possibility a ripped egr valve gasket would cause rough idle or should i look elsewhere?

i pulled my mystory box and hooked the vacume line back up........ and my car ran like that ........when it ran, try disconnecting the vac. line and see how the car runs.:rice:
