I think it would be one of the most coolist things that any one would see.
I hope you post something.

the u could hook up a motor that opens and closes the sliding doors automatically

that would be cool if you pulled it off. i would rock it.

11-22-2005, 10:01 AM
wow, will there even be enough room for the sliders on the accord?

3G Jester
11-22-2005, 11:13 AM
you gotta tell us bro. whats the donor? i assume your taken the rear quarter pannels off to figure out support for the sliders to support the rolling doors. how is going to lock? same way? post up some pics of your diagrams or sketches or whatever. cant tell us all this stuff and then tell us you havent even seriously planned it :)

the only bitch i'm seeing in doing sliding doors is having wires running into them. like how are you going to run speakers and the electronics on the doors? i'd say go with the gull wing doors. that'd be tight.

11-22-2005, 07:58 PM
:dunno: i dont even understand how you'd do this... or maybe i'm just not seeing things the way you guys are. Has somebody done this before? I'm sort of lost..:dunno:

HondaBoy

something like this i'm guessing. but with front doors. i think the gull wing idea is a good one though. not many people do that though because of a crap load of frame work to do.

I actually know how to do the Gullwing fab when i was tinkering around and designing my CR-Xtream. But i have the idea in my head and actualy scetched it out.
Im thinking he could use the molding as part of the railing along with some braces and a track for the bottom. Im not good on how to explain unless i have something to physicly show.
But i have the idea.

2drSE-i
11-22-2005, 11:31 PM
well for electronics he'd either have to run the wires all the way to go behind the door, or make the sliders open towards the front fender

11-23-2005, 01:08 PM
where is the guy i would like to see if hes come up with anything or if hes got any pictures or scetckes, i agree with whast been posted above, it does look like a sweet idea but its gonna be hella hard, good luck

i think the hardest part would be makeing it come out, electronics wont be much of a deal, just have the wires comming out were the door latches onto... if that made sence, post some pictures, maybe make a how-to for it

cant you just use stock accord doors instead of taking doors from another car? Cant you just take the rollers and other stuff from like a minivan or something? and then just fab it to his door? Seems easier than customizing another door to fit and such. Again, maybe i just dont fully understand it

HondaBoy
11-24-2005, 03:23 PM
i think that was the idea. i thought anyway. to use sliders from mini van doors and fab it up to mount to the accords doors.

I'm a little upset... I've had this idea for a long time... And have acctually done a little bit of work towards it... I haven't said anything about it cause it's something completely new... N I wanted to be the first with it...

A friend of mine is helping me fabricate and what-not... The wiring is really easy... We're running into trouble with how to put the motor in... I want them to be automatic.. like minivans... Just push a button...

Good luck in your planning... If I ever pull it off... I'll definatly show yall.. But till then my plans, sketches and actual pictures are top secret...

Well shit, if you want sliding doors. Might as well get the tuck-away seats that fold down & lay flat & you can remove. Might as well make it a up-to- date mini-van/ Accord. More power to you, good luck with that. Seems like the 4 door model would have room for the door sliding back & purpose , kind of weird to see this happen.

obviously wasnt stevedx. I just dont get why this would be cool. Maybe thats because i associate sliding doors with lame ass minivans. I'd love to see the finished product though, because its different. Dont be an ass stevedx, i was just trying to understand.

What I don't understand is where you got the idea he would modify the van doors for the Accord. He said in his post he was using the sliders and was gonna mod them for his door. I wasn't trying to be an ass but the info. is right in the first post.

my main concerne is the distance the rails let the door travell away from the car like the door panel will be to thick if u will.

the only problem i see is reinforcing the roof,as far as the electricals, they make contacters for sliding doors that only make contact when the door is closed. i think some mini vans have them stock even.

why not go with suicide lambo doors? huh? oh whos got those? be original there.......u know, now that i think of it those wouldnt be that hard

b8er
11-27-2005, 05:21 PM
if you wanna go suicide lambos i think its more work then you may think, first you would have to reinfore the center post there, then swap over all the laches and brakects, then fix the wiring so it can move with the door, then fix the handle so you can open it, alot of work to changes doors, unless you go with a kambo kit, hench why everybody has them now

the bottom slider is being the hardest to figure out with only having about 3" before it drops down the middle slider easy to place going to have to relocate gas door by the looks of things thought as far as wiring probably going to go with manual windows and relocate the speakers out of the doors getting 4 point harness so no more seat belt

I remember a tuner doing the sliding door on a car at the SEMA show(Idon't know were and which car) and suicide lambos would be better on the 2drs not a 4dr. (front) The rear is different. I just saw a guys screensaver with a supra with suicide lambos and it was sick.

b8er
11-27-2005, 11:41 PM
hey mase do you think you could find that screensaveer, i would love to se a picture of some suicide lambos

That's if the guy will let me get it. He acts like it's some top secret shit or something. I'll try to do get it from him it's a black and white photo. (still hot)

Suicide lambos on the rear doors of a 4 door and regular lambos on the front would be pretty slick.

you know iv always thought that but im just to cheap, lazy, and not a big enough ricer to pull it off

Suicide lambos, ive thought about that, but not on a four door.

well you can probably hide a slider on the doorline where the moulding is... or do a roof and floor slider. The electronics, well you can do like some minivans with retracting pins in the door frame that make contact when the pins in the door when it closes, the electronics won't work if the door is open.

Wow nice Kia...

I wouldn't mind having lambo-suicied doors for my sedan... weld the two doors together, have then push out slightly then pivot up with the aide of some hydrolic or neumatic pistons.

I found this on the TeamShowcase:; go to bottom row 2nd pic http://www.teamshowcase.com/HTML/Gallery/imo2.html The hinge looks like it's on the rear. I really can't tell the setup.
