I dont know if these have tamper protection or anything, but I had everything apart for my cluster to do custom overlay and LED's and shit, but somehow I managed to click my odometer forward 1000km, ill take the hit if I just keep 1000 more km, but I hope its still gonan work. Actually it clicked HALFWAY up, but it wouldnt go back down (tamper protection?) so the only way to have a number was to finish the click, which I did purposely after it half clicked up.

Arg, Ive got a parts car cluster, but the milage is like 40000km less. And I really dont wanna take dashes apart again uuhgh

i actually never took odometer apart, but i know you can take them apart.
see what is preventing the odometer to do back.

Well I think its ok, I just put the speedo back in and it did turn over a full km so I dont think I should be too worried, hopefully I didnt break anything at the 1000 point.

yeah, they can click as far forward as you want, they just can't go back.

.... unless you remove the long pin that runs behind the numbers. then you can adjust each number however you want... *AHEM*

that's why most cars from the 80's up you cant reverse and turn the odometer back. its so you cant commit odometer fraud.

Actually, you can roll the odometer back, but it's ILLEGAL. :)

I'm not gonna post on how to do it, but it can be done.

Peace.

Yeah, you godda tell your insurance or something. It probably costs money too, but you need to put on file what the previous reading was and the one you are putting in for obvious insurance reasons. "Well if your 87 accord only had 12000 original km on it, we'll give you more." or something, I dunno
