i was at the junkyard on weds and i saw a couple of 89-91 prelude Si's, and i really wanted their shift knobs. any idea if they work with the 3g accords?
heres a quick pic, taken from prelude power

when looking closely, i noticed that instead of D4, D3, 2, it has D, S, and S2 i think (dont remember that well) but the shift locks were all in the same place. does anyone have any clue if they work? it also has an extra button the knob that says S(something) on it, the one i looked at was kinda faded, but there were a few more in the yard. TIA

edit: added another pic

the only way to know for sure is to take off both covers and compare the two. Or take off both the handels and test. if your talking about taking the entire prelude shifter then you may run into minor problems or it may bolt right on. If you just switch out handel then you'll only run into minor problems all of which can be fixed with either jb weld or a dremel..or both. I'd say you'd have some problems mounting the entire shifter because of the different engine and tranny's. if it was 2g prelude maybe...but 3g...hmm i'm thinking not likely just a bolt on.

yes, but you have to drill out the center some because the shifter will engage all the time if you don't. a little electrical tape to shim it up, and it's golden. other than that, it fits. it does stick up a bit too much, though.

yeah, that's what i thought at first, ut you just can't do that :/. maybe if you could pull the whole shifter and not just the knob, you could pull it off.
