Junkyard digging!

Okay so i went to the junkyard, finally,and what did i find?!?!?!? 5 sedans and 1 hatch! most engines stripped/removed interiors were mostly okay. I got 4 Cruise control master switches, a shift knob that doesn't work from an older hatchback (2nd gen civic maybe???), 1 power antenna switch, 1 power moonroof switch, 4 manual headlight dust caps, and the only thing i really needed was- 1 corner light! So all for $20 i think i got a deal, how about you? I also went to another junkyard, and as i was walking in i noticed, there was a 3 gee on the lift! i asked the guy if he was gutting it and he said "No, i'm putting the steering in." so i said "mind if i take a couple pix?" He was cool with it and said he had one of em too! he's like it's outside take a look if you want. 1989 Lx-i sedan A20A3. so yeah great day at the yard, i'm gonna be picking up the fender soon from the guys and maybe i'll get that air tube (i meant to grab it yesterday) Also he said he wanted to sell his car, so maybe i'll have a laurel blue one too. And i'll be getting that fender for $45!!!! (that's cheap compared to the $75 the other junkyard asked for.)

hahaha, those rims are not rare at all.... they are stock on the 2g prelude.

at the yards around me, usually the engines are the last things left. Seems that nobody needs another engine for their accord, or they dont wanna replace it with a 265000 mile yard motor... Prolly both

thoughs cars bares have rust from thoughs pics what the hell why they in the junk yard :sad2: all the ones i see at the junk yard are rusted to hell

Both the blue and tan ones are driven the white one has rust on its front left side, where it has been smashed to hell, not to mention it's only been there since this time last year... at the other yard there was no rust, at all! i dunno why tho, the cars mostly were just missing lights and such, maybe they all died and were just dropped off, i dunno :(

Yeah like my buddies firefly, just died one day. Rust wasnt too bad, he just sold it to a wrecker for 50 bucks. I saw it out there a while back, stripped out.

i got a radiator and a passenger side mirror from the yard today..i was looking for a head and distributor and intake manifold !

my junkyard's filled with 3Gs. i find an SE-i every couple of months, too, rear brakes intact. one of these days (sigh...)
i think i'm going today just to see what i can find
btw: if anyone's looking for SE-i parts let me know. can't guarantee any cupholders, those are usually the first to go

speedpenguin do you ever go to brandywine? That's where i go, even though i live in VA, not MD. Brandywine is pretty well organized, imo. I like that i can look for honda/acura stuff and not have to worry about nissans toyotas and fords, etc. The honda/acura yard is my friend :)

this brandywine place sounds kinda cool, though.

brandywine has an asian yard for 8yr and older cars, and new ones. They split up the asians, domestics, and the euros. They have like 20 yards in about a 15-30 mile radius, its pretty ridiculous actually.

They even have a wheel and hubcap yard .... :eek:
