Hello everyone, I have a 86 hatch w/ the stock carb that has the vacuum mod and that 89' civic air box attached to create a CAI. This is the problem: I was accelerating (with WOT) and when I threw it into 3rd gear (i was at 3700-4000 RPM in 3rd) the car began to jerk, like bad.:ugh: It sounded like a rev limiter was on the engine but i know thats not a feature. It was like "vroom,vroom,vroom..etc" with the jerks taking place at each vroom. Hahaha sounds retarted:lol: . The RPM's would stay at 3700 and then the car would jerk backward as if i was braking also...its quite strange. I was thinking that maybe its not getting enough fuel around those RPM's when both venturies(not sure how to spell it) are open. Because when I slightly press on the gas while accelerating(just opening one venturi) around the same RPM's and gear no jerking occurs. This has never happened before. What do yall think ?:dunno: Thanks.

Thank yall for the replys but Im still having a problem with hesitation, i checked for the loose venturies but both were tight as hell. Do you this its something dealing with fuel delivery? :dunno: I know someone said something about this first off...All vacuum hoses are closed off and everything is tight. I adjusted the Fuel/Air screw so that less air and more gas would be avaliable and when i hit it it still jerked and lost power but not as bad...Anything would be a major help, thanks guys.

The fuel/air screw is for the idle circuit only.

It couldn't hurt if they haven't been changed in a while. They are relatively inexpensive and then you can rule them out.

I just bypass the rear filter and run one up front... up to you.

I guess its possible that the secondary diaphragm/thermovalve has developed a leak.
