Well ok, my friend, the one with the 97DX 4 dr civic with the high compression (12.6:1!!) LS/Vtec just got a CRX and is swapping his drivetrain from the Civic to the CRX... He ran a best of 14.3 on street tires in his civic (i smoke him) he makes 174 whp on a dyno dynamics dyno (it would be like 190whp on a dynojet) im wondering if i should be skeered with this driveline in a lightweight CRX... My guess is hes gonna awful close to my times if not a little faster. Your thoughts

Ya the weight difference alone will make a HUGE difference... He's ditching about 300lbs... Looks like it's time to up the boost man. Boost ownz... Oh ya... dont be skerd... you have an A20a motor that actually came in the car from the factory. Anyone can swap motors and make their once slow ass car faster. It's those that can make the stock motor fast that are truely respectable. Props man!

even if he does win, you should rub in that your car is heavier, and you kept up almost neck to neck

well we will have to see, hes got over half a second to lose to catch me (6tenths off his best to match my best, 14.3 vs 13.7) so figuring 2 tenths/100lb loss he should be theoretically even or very close. My personal belief is that with traction i should still own him... i cant hook at all

That's true, you need wider tires with a lower treadwear rating... Like Yokohama's with 180 treadwear or something.

lol ok i was thinking more like 23x8 inch slicks. Or i could go for launch hero axle breaker 24.5" tall

Is your accord your daily driver?

if hes smaller then you just beat him up.

no..if yours is a daily driver with all interior running that time and his is all stripped out....just tell him that even though his times caught up with you, you still have the car to take his girlfriend out in.

he is smaller than me but his wife is pretty ok looking. I have no back seat as it is, i was thinking of putting it back in actually.... only weighs like maybe 40-50lbs max. The accord is not my daily driver anymore. Its in storage right now.

if he has no issues he'll only loose a couple of tenths...
it's like taking two people out of the car. you can feel the differance but it is not that much.
I don't agree with some of the other members...
A man does'nt make excuses on why he lost.
He goes home and makes it faster.

Shouldnt be a problem ,if you fix the traction issues you should be able to take him by atleast fender length.

drag radials, slicks and a stiffer rear suspension..
that will help you'r traction issues..
when i get a little time i am going to try and develop a better traction bar but at this piont, time is scarce.
I should be in you'r range in the 1/4 but you know as i do 60' time's make or break you..right now they are breaking me.. so the traction thing is on my mind..
I am getting ready to spend another grand on upgrades on the motor and my traction issues are only going to get worse.

Has any one thought of using a throttle stop to control traction on the launch like the v8 guy's use?

I here that neptune has an anti-lag control whitch acts like a traction control, plus a boost controller that can be adjusted by gear..

i thought i would through a few idea's out there.

well how much boost are you running? You could stage it so like, 1st is like 7psi, 2nd is like 10psi or whatever

im sure U know... but there is a hmt traction control write up on homemadeturbo... :) just a momentary switch that tricks the boost controller or wg. :)

yeah i could go with a dual stage turboXscuse boost controller for cheap off egay... like boost 7psi in 1st and then go to like 13psi in 2nd+ but my wastegate can is a 13psi can (OMG) so ill like have to switch wastegates (again)

what kind of boost controller are you running now?
my low boost setting is set to about 8.5 and the high setting is set at 11.7.
i have the greddy profec-b controller.
if you'r going two stage get the greddy. There is an optional wired switch you can mount on the shifter or something to switch between high and low boost.
