rebuild an A20A1? Thats IMPOSSIBLE. Some guy told me his accord was turboed the other day and i told him he was full of shit, that just cant be true

seriously bro, search the board before you post. if you cant find anything thats fine, but there are engine build threads on the same page as this thread under performance bro.

So far all i've seen when i search is that most of these guys are rebuilding the a20a3 block and using the a20a1 head all im trying to figure out would it be a mistake fo me to try and build my a20a3

laugh my fucking ass off

yah dude just twin charge that shit, 45.5 psi on the blower and 50 psi on the turbo charger, then pop another a20 in the back with the same set up for the rear wheels, do independent steering and have a steering column in the back for your friends, they you can be driving this way and you be driving that way and like you can do spins and cartwheels and like tyco r/c supersoaker.

a20a3 and a20a1 have the same heads. their the same engines with the exception of EFI and Carb.

there is a cam difference between carb and efi. The heads are pretty close but have small differences

i heard of this one guy who said he was running lke over 30 lbs of boost in his a20....i think its bullshit.

a 10 second 3g? YEAH RIGHT. it'll never happen....

The A20A3 and B20 are both cast iron don't need to sleeve neither. The A20 max bore is 40 over. The block can handle 30 psi,but the headgasket can not,2 runs and blow gasket. Will try 30 now have o-ring and ARP studs,so this will help hold down gasket.SCE makes copper gasket but I have had touble with it,have gone back to paper gaskets and had better luck.

The carb heads don't have the raised part of the intake port to accomodate injectors..?

well i have a friend who says he can do a b20 swap for me and all he will charge me is 2grand but he also said he can rebuild my a20 with a p&p head and get me a turbo for it for cheaper what do u think i should have him do.

get the b20, and then turbo it. you will be the third i believe

i doubt that it's a b20a so i would do the a20 p and p with the turbo, it can make some good hp and if you can get it for less i'd do that.

hey hey, i wanna know about the a20a3 dohc. because if there's a sohc one, there should be a dohc on too. it would only make sense.

dude, i hear the a20a3 tohc gets 660 whp straight from the factory. so the dohc one should be pretty good.

i think he was just being specific. He couldve said the a20a3 SOHC 88-89 version with a base of 122 hp at the crank, only coming in LX-i, EX-i, and SE-i models and the same message wudve been sent.

this is how 90% of the threads on this forum die. we always wind up talking about RicOrZ and their typeR stickers.

Yeah but, it's all in good fun. Then again there are alot of good threads. It just pisses me off when these guys don't search or heck just look at one of the first three threads of the performance section i.e. My engine build up or whatever. But, we all have to learn I guess...

it comes to find out that it wasn't a b20 it was some other crap so i decided to turbo and ever since i became a member i've searched so i have enough information to do it so now im back to the base line.

lol...no we learned how to rag on ricers lol

no in all seriousness (sp?) i think that sometimes newbies actually have legitimate questions and we all shoot them down. sometimes when you search, the things youre looking for dont come up. i mean yes, there is a lot of information on this board, but when youre looking on how to fix your "flux capacitor" (< thats an example) in your car and all you can find is a how to from 2002 with no pictures, or you dont really understand it. so some people find it a need to actually make a thread about their question. like this guy had a good question but didnt post it in his first post...so we all started flaming (not me im a good boy). but then again there are people asking stupid questions like..."how hard is it to swap in an h22 into my AcCoRd?"....i think THAT deserves flaming!

Y'know, thing is, it's all well and good to tell a n00b to search first, but sometimes the search terms aren't the most obvious things to think of, and you end up with no hits, or a bazillion hits, or a bunch of unrelated hits that come up because someone used one of the search tems in passing, or in their .sig, or posts don't hit because either the posts or the search - or both - contain spelling errors...

I mean, a search for "89 accord coupe" would turn up every post w00t ever made (some people even list their engines in their .sigs, which really hinders searches based on engine types)... a Brit might try searching for "bonnet" and never find any info on the hood... there are lots of reasons that "search first" isn't always a workable solution.

I'm an old-timer online and frankly quite adept at data mining - narrowing search terms and all that - and I still run into these kinds of problems all the time, here and elsewhere.

lol...thats true. but just as a side note people have said bonnet on this site before. search it and you'll see. i think ive even said it before lol. but youre right. when i started on this site, i would search and get a bazillion threads just because someone said, header or intake. but then again you can narrow down a search even more by clicking the especific thread you think your answer would be on. like if youre searching "intake gains," you can click on the performance section and probably narrow down your search better than searching it all over the site.
