so my check engine light has been coming on for a couple weeks now and i finally got around to checking it. it usually comes on right at start up, but it has come on in the middle of driving too. so i checked it and it's code 06, the ect sensor. and my temp guage hs done a few funny things lately as well. and it overheated a time or two as well. so where is this sensor located and how much would it cost to replace if that's what's necessary?
and another problem, not sure if it's related or not. but sometimes i'll start the car, and it'll sputter between 500 and 600 for a second or two then die. only way to fix it is to rev it and put it in gear (it's an auto). and it does this sporadically at random times. no matter if it's hot or cold. thanks guys.

It's on the top of the thermostat housing closest to the cylinder head. You'll need a 17 mm deep socket to replace it. This sensor is for the ECU, not the gauge--that sender is on the back of the housing.

alright, thanks man. my guage is working just fine, it's just the sensor must be out or something.
