dude that this is fucking sweet. I suspect a good solid 450hp+ out of this set up. I am wondering how you got the Intercooler to fit, but its a tight ass fit as i can tell. and i mean 450hp on 93 octane. Race gas............. im sure u can pass around 570hp+

Jon has the best 3Geez accord in the world and one of the best street racing Honda ever.
Even if I am a N/A fun, Jon's new set up is realy nice.
I think with low pressure 0.9 bar 400-450 hp is easy target, through the
bottom end could hold 700hp and 2+bar (with race fuel).
The turbo kit together with labour, sleeved and stroked engine plus all
the other injectors, management etc and dynotuning could be at $10.000+
in USA.
In all other world is impossible ( except maybe East ASIA) because in Europe nobody Knows to sleeve Honda blocks properly.
And some questions Jon if you have some time to answer.
1)You think that place racing mounts and axles will hold Ok with that Power?
2) How you find your suspension set-up ,SKUNK 2 coilovers with KYB GR-2 shocks?(bounce a lot? or is OK?) because I am in process to buy new suspension.

Thanks a lot
Congrats again for your new set-up

from what i remember him saying at the last meet he went to was that he had put well over 10 grand in it, this was before turbo

AccordEpicenter

450hp on .9 bar aint gonna happen, maybe at 1.3 bar or so. Just so you guys know 1bar=14.7 psi.

your radiator looks like it's trying to get in the car but the engine won't let it:lol:

what are you going to do for traction?

wickedaccord
01-07-2006, 01:17 PM
to answer all your questions quickly.. this set up cost me about 15k including all the necessary hardware and components to make it work. i'm going to set it up for everyday driving. if anything it'll be daily driven at 10psi untuned. the only thing tuned will be the a/f ratio. cam timing will be stock and ignition will most likely be advanced to 18 degree. my civic with same turbo made 310whp on 91 octane. the civic and accord practically has the same set up except for the difference in the head. the civic has an itr head and accord has a pnp b16 head. so most likely the accord should be able to make more power.

as for my axles.. it'll be fine for everyday driving. but i know in time it'll be worn out. i plan on sending it in to driveshaft in a few months to have it rebuilt to a stage 4 set up. the mounts should be fine. i custom a front mount to support the extra load the motor will be putting out. as for suspension, i'm actually using 500lb springs in the front and 600lb springs in the rear from skunk2 with bilstein custom race shocks. i had bilstein custom valved it for road racing to make up for the loss in suspension travel and all that complicated suspension set up talk. but the ride is actually fine. it was what i expected. smoother ride but still have that road race feel for the street.

but the best all motor set up i had for the accord ran 13.9 on street tires with full interior with only minor tuning. at that time only intake cam timing was advanced 2 degree and ignition was advanced 18 degree. fuel timing was adjusted by the apex vafc. but my last all motor set up was probably the best. never had a chance to run it, but the last all motor set up made 185whp untuned. everything was set to stock. it wouldve been awesome to see that tuned but i was going turbo and wasnt worth it.

future plans - i hope to get the car repainted again due to minor flaws such as some dents and things arent as straight as it should be. after that, i might get it in DSPORT magazine (inside connection). once that's all done, future plans are to set up a roll cage, re-tune the motor on race gas, and make a miracle 10.5 or faster 1320 run. all on a street car chassis and still be able to drive home after a 10.5 or faster run. thanks for the support, this car is for life. otherwise i wouldnt have done what i did.

ps. i wont be able to make it to the meet just because the car runs right now, but it's running on a base map for the hondata. so it aint worth really driving around yet. i'll be hosting another dyno meet a week after the accords dyno tuning at church automotive

Wow awesome looking engine bay... GT35R hey?... my buddy is running that in his E28 BMW, and I must say that thing has some balls.

But Ya, can't wait to see some numbers from this thing and some 1/4 ET's.

Props to all the work you have done, I have always loved your accord, good too see its still getting new mods.

dual ball bearing owns man. it takes a good 30 seconds or more to stop spinnging after the car is shut down. Spools up like a mofo. but with 25psi+ you are pushing, you will not even feel any lag considering ur charge pipes are at minimal length. Cant wait for the dyno day to come by and see the front end lift off the rollers :)

AccordEpicenter
01-08-2006, 07:25 PM
lol yeah you can seriously hear them spin down FOREVER

Thanks a lot Jon for your answers.

So maybe is not a good idea for somebody to run GR-2 KYB with SKUNK 2
coilovers??? and custom bilstein must be superexpensive......bad news..

Happy to listen that your PRI mounts and axles can hold that power....

As for TURBO pressure, I think you are very conservative..........but of course
you Know much more.

TOP FUEL tuned CIVIC make 347whp on Dynojet with stock B20B block and
12 psi (~0.8 BAR):

http://www.turbomagazine.com/features/0104tur_civicunrest/

10 psi ( 0.7 Bar) is too low for your sleeved-forged motor, maybe you prefer lots of low and torque ( I don't think that you will have any TURBO LAG at all)which is much better for a street TURBO car for both drag and street racing.

Best wishes for your dream Honda.

time for the playa hating to come out.

its a turbo b16. *yawn* sure, its been transplanted into an accord, but with the deep pockets you apparently have, thats not that big of a deal as most of the kids around here make it out to be.

now go have your fun with maurice. But you're one step ahead of him in my book because you at least kept the 3g. :D

i will give you props for a nice clean setup.

suuuure it's no big deal about this set up... question is.. then why hasn't anyone done it in their accord? that's the whole concept. it's in an 89 accord. sure i got the funds to do it, but honestly, it's just hard work and dedication. plus it aint just me, my bro an i work on this together.

but thanks for the compliments, it's all appreciated. tomorrow is the big dyno day. i'll post up videos and pics as soon as i get back. ofcourse the accord will make more power than my civic due to that pnp head with LS crank and LS spec MANLEY rods. so i'll try an get a video of the accord vs civic run for you guys too. it'll be a fun drive home...

and dont worry coroncho, i plan on doing a miracle run all on boost no N2O :)
