I need to know who is interested in the adj. cam gear for their 3rd gen. I will have 5 of them completed and ready for shipment by friday. They will also have the degree marks on them for you.
I am imagining that they will cost in the $150-175 range (includes shipment (US, canada and elswhere extra.)
Please let me know ASAP.
I don;t mean to be rude, but I need to get them in, and get them sold as soon as possible. Can't really wait a month or two..

What are the advantages of it? Sorry I am not really a car guy. If it's worthwhile I would definetly be interested.

for a single cam all you can do is slide the peaks up and down.
for dual cams you can widen the peaks.

ive never even used mine.

Provided the dyno results mike posted are close true I can't see a reason not to try it.

yup..... the difference betweet 129 hp at the wheel and 140 is cam timming mostly. and probably a lot to do with my cam itself. and it didn't lose much botom end(if any at all)

Well, with my B20A project comming along, I can't use that camgear anymore.

I know I wanted one since the beggining but that thing will be useless to me now.

I will try to get a hold of the 11 sec A20A powered prelude.

I know the guy doesn't have an adjustable camgear.

He might be interested. (I hope so)

Did you look to see if the cam gears on the b20a are the same as the one on the a20a. I'm speaking from toyota exprience here, but the single and dual cam A series toyota engines use the same gears.

that was a nice thread.

i might as well screw with mine a bit.
did anyone ever mentionwhat setting would be good.

its wierd how they pull like mad after 3k. but some top end would be nice. i remember i kept getting better times at the track by shifting earlier and earlier.

kinda wish i would have gone farther with the A20, but i just couldnt see building it that much. it will never be capable of the the same results as an NA VTEC and be daily driveable.
what i really needed was a header and a real cam.
oh well, i'll be running 12's soon anyway. that'll make me forget all about my little iron 12 :crying:. but ive been messing with these things for a long time. i need a change.

i do still plan to build an A20 someday though. and i wanna put it in a CRX :D

Its been done, I wonder what ever happend to that guy. Haven't seen him around in a long time. He had a turbo (well it was in the process of being turboed when he was on here) a20a in a gen 1 crx. I might be able to dig up his email if you want to try to get in touch with him, I have it some where I think. Aren't you doing it backwards though, the vtec in the lude and the a20 in a crx ;P.

I'm interested. A couple of questions first:
1. What's it made of (gear, hub, fasteners)?
2. What's the degree range of adjustment?

Marking the degrees is a nice touch!

Hey night, I dunno if you've seen the Gen2 lude running in the 11's with an A20A :p

Is that the 'lude with dual carbs and nitrous, carotman? I'd love to read up and see some good pics of that! I've thought about designing the intake manifold for the DCOEs so I can add nitrous later. Seeing someone else's work would make things a lot easier.

Again, I'm interested, but I need these questions answered, please:
1. What is it made of (gear, hub, fasteners)?
2. What degree of adjustment does it have?

Sorry for the re-post of these questions. But if there are only going to be 5, I don't want to miss out on getting one. I would like to know more about what I'm buying, first.

Thanks so much!

It is a modified stock unit with a cnc aluminum center section.
The amount of adjustment for degrees---I have know Idea to tell you the truth, but I do believe it is more than what is usable, meaning that you can retard it too far or advance it too much. The cnc shop that is making them, he is putting degree marks on it for me... Probobly won;t have the numbers, but there will be the TDC 0 degrees and marks for advancement and retard (which is all you really need, the numbers don;t mean much.

Thanks for the reply! I will take one when they're ready, if they're not all spoken for by now. My email is mike[at]riverhillscc[dot]com. Thanks again!

I'm guessing that you're keeping one for yourself. Does that mean your current project is an A20 engine?

I have one a20a3 already built and pretty much ready to go, except I am changing the intake manifold to a custom one that accepts 2 sets of fuel injectors... I have enough stuff to build two motors, but right now I am working on just getting the car running.

2 sets of injectors - you are a visionary. A freaking 3G performance pioneer!

ya, i believe an 11 sec A20, but not an 11 sec NA A20, which is what im after :p.

so VTEC it is....

but i will be running my car one more time before i put the CRVtec in. just to see what i can get out of a bone stock A20.

Uhmm I am going to be running 8 injectors. 4 primaries and 4 secondaries (just like the drag cars except my injectors won;t be as big as theirs.) Also I have an NOS 60 shot Fogger system that I am going to be installing as well. we shall see if the motor holds..
