Required to do this swap

Place Racing Motor Mounts (these have been discontinued, but a forum member built his own mounts (http://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=49200&highlight=b-series)) EDIT: Innovative has decided to start making B-swap mounts again. (http://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=70868&highlight=Innovative) I cannot confirm that these will work with all the parts I have listed here, but it is very likely that they will.
Passenger Axle: 87-89 Acura Integra Passenger Side Axle (A little long, but it works)
Drivers Axle: The center shaft of the axle comes from the passenger side of the 86-89 accord. The ends (parts that connect to the hub, and to the transmission) are from an 88-91 Integra. This axle was put together for me by a professional axle shop, almost any axle repair place should be able to do it for you.
(88LXi68 (http://www.3geez.com/forum/member.php?u=22), is running a 3rd generation(88-91) prelude drivers side axle for this application. I have not tried it out myself, but he has been running the PRI mounts much longer then I have)
Place racing custom shift linkage (also discontinued, so good luck). This is an easily fabbed item. All you need is the stock Accord shift Linkage with and integra end (scroll down for comparison pictures).
Custom Engine and Sub harness to convert to OBD-1 (I purchased mine from Rywire (http://www.rywire.com) )
Factory 86-89 Lx-i Accord Throttle cable (will work with a GSR throttle body bracket, and maybe others.)
You can use a factory 86-89 Accord clutch cable but it is a little long. I recommend using an 87-91 Acura Integra clutch cable, it fits just right in the engine bay.
You must use the rear engine/transmission mount bracket from a 90-93 Integra.

I used the factory 86-89 Accord fuel line, it bolts right on. With the coolant hoses I had to use the upper radiator hose from the Accord with no problems, and the factory B-series lower radiator hose. With the lower hose you will have an issue if you are using the factory Accord radiator. The lower hose has a larger diameter then the Accord hose, Just make sure to use a very sturdy clamp on the hose that you can tighten with a screw driver or ratchet.

I also did a wire tuck to clean up the engine bay a little that can be found here (http://www.3geez.com/forum/showthread.php?t=52544&highlight=wire+tuck) .

Small video of the car in action (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrbYhpOPhII)

Here are the specs on the motor

Nice job, Did you get ahold of a pair of the placeracing mounts? Or did you custom fab your own?

Hope you figure out the fuel problem.... and hopefully it's not a wiring problem and the fuel injectors are just clogged.

Congrats Legend Master for you car, superb work!!!!!nice N/A sleeper!!!
Enjoy your new LS/VTEC engine.
I think you are over 190hp with that set-up? with a nice ECU.
Try also to change the LS tranny with a jdm S1 or Y1 tranny.

I think I am close to 190 at the motor, but I wish I was close to that at the wheels. I wanted an S1 or Y1, but they are rare and vary expensive. I got this tranny for $150.00 and the only Y1 I can find is $500.00.

Well it took me a year or so to collect all the parts an build the motor, but to pull the other engine out and slap this one in it only took 2 days. If I get it running tonight then it will have only taken me a week or so to get it going. I used PLace racing mounts and shift linkage, Rywire (http://www.rywire.com/store/index.php) engine harness (still under construction), and I used factory integra axles (but I don't know how well they work just yet).

So what's your next project? B18 turbo?

wow looks damn good. hope you figure out that fuel problem. check to see if you are getting current to the injectors with a voltemeter. if so, it might be bad injectors seized up from sitting in a j/y for a long time. if not, then it might be in the wiring. or just the wrong type of injectors maybe. if that is a 94+ gsr engine, it might be set up differently...maybe saturated or peak and hold? :dunno: ask wickedaccord, he almost has the same setup as yours.

OK everybody ITS ALIVE!!!!!!!! The sensor wire for the TDC and the crank angle in (the dizzy) were mixed up on the harness. I switched them and the car started without a problem. It sounds like it is running well, but I have an open header on it now and it is too late to run it very long. As soon as I can get it running well and I break in the motor I will post up some vids for you guy. If anybody wants info on the harness go to Rywire (http://www.rywire.com/store/index.php) and call or email them. They made my Engine and sub harness.

I would like to throw out some props to everybody that helped to get this swap done. Thanks everybody

Well the wireing was all done by rywire, but I had to do a little cleanup on the harness to make it work. I will take some pictures and do as much of a DIY as I can. I hope it will run better with the b18 in there to (even though I know it will :) ).

It still fits, if you remove the dust ring from the back of the hub. It only took about 30 sec to get the ring off, but I am kinda worried about dirt getting in there. The axle just looks like it might be binding, but I can't tell untill I drive the car. The a20 axle had a thicker diameter then the holes of the tranny.

are both b-series axles the same length? if so, the tranny might NOT be centered properly with those placeracing mounts. if not, maybe the driver's side is a tad shorter and maybe you should try using two of those?

also, do you think you are getting even weight distribution on the left & right of the car with the engine/drivertrain placement with those mounts?

Well the passenger side integra axle is shorter then the drivers side, so in all reality going with the 86-89 integra axles would be smarter then removing the dust ring from the hub and using the 90-93. As for the wieght distribution, i dont have the slightest idea yet, once I start drving it I will know a little more. I know the front is alot lighter, because it rasied up about 1/4 of an inch after the swap.

Well I drove it around the block, but I am getting a really bad oil leak from the vtec oil line. I just need to put some teflon tape on the screw. The axles don't seem to be binding, but the passenger just looks crammed in there. Only time will tell if the axle is to long.

THEY ARE BOTH 90-93 Axles you have to remove the dust ring from the back of the accord hub to make the passenger side work. There is a difference between the 90-93 passenger and drivers side axle. You can use an 86-89 integra axle and it will fit much better and you don't have to remove the dust ring. Sorry to be an ass about this, but I have said it like 10 times between 3 threads.

Hey Legend Master. Im new to this site, let me give you a little background, lol and mock me for being a noob if i screw up. I used to have a 96 gsr, i loved her to death, worked on it everyweekend till she was rite. had to deal with a shitty motor replacement and obd1 and ob2 non complying wiring harness so lots of wiring issues. but ne ways i was in debt up to my eye balls, i could hardly afford to keep her on the road. when the car got stolen and thrashed that was it, once it got out of the body shop i sold it. But now i have my 87 accord hatch and i dont mind it. My accord was the car i settled on because i couldnt find a 85 'rolla i wanted, super hard to find in westren canada. So now i have my accord with the shitty ass 2.0L carb and i dont like it. i miss the days of hearing my vtec kick in feelin the car surge. i thought i would never feel that again untill i can actually afford another integra!! or at least a civic..... ewww. but then the day came that i found 3geez, where i just happened to stumble across you and accord theory. your threads enlightened and inspired me, so much it made me sign up for the 3geez forum. but now i come to the reason why im posting on your thread. its tax season this time of the year, and by a creative tax return im gonna get a rather large sum of money. i have found a gsr motor 95 160,000km and am purchasing it later this week. i have looked and looked for the PRI mounts but cant find ne, so i said screw PRI and their mounts i will go with accords theorys route and build my own, my best buddy is a steel fabricator that builds excavators and we have gone over the pictures A.T. posted and he says itsno problem. the only real hurtle im left staring at is the wiring harness. im alright at repairing electrical, but building a harness now way. what i wanttoknow is how did rywire fuck up so bad, and why couldnt you use the stock harness's from an integra?? also i was reading through most of yours and accord theorys threads and i didnt see if you two ever found a solid solution to the axel problem. so ne response containing some of the information i asked for would be greatly appreciated.

Well first off thanks for actually reading before posting, because you seem to understand all the problem. Since you are running a carbed motor, you could actually pull the entire harness from the Integra and only use the stuff for the engine and discard everything else. You could run this along side factory carb harness since that only controls the auxiliary items. You would have to pull everything from the ECU to the engine, and I do mean EVERYTHING.

P.S. When you said that part about finding my car and leading you to 3geez, that is exactly what happened to me. I saw Oldschool swaps accord and fallowed his link to this forum and here I am now LOL.

EDIT: the only problem Rywire had on my harness was that they dident have a car to mock it up on. THey built the whole harness without a car to do it on. So I give them props for building the hanress.

thanks we will se how it turns out.
how come you just didn't just get a LS B18B instead of that B18A block?

you could've did the POOR MAN's R build ( B18B with ITR pistons ) and slapped on a B16A2 head!!

OR...better yet...you could've just went with a B20 block and port and polished head..with ITR cams! and go to www.jenvey.com and get a ITB mani...and fab up your ITB setup!

have you ever heard a B20/ GSR head with an aggressive oversized intake cam and ITBs attached to it run???

( woody in pants )

BUT none the less, looking through this site....and remembering when I had a 3rd gen Accord back in my teen years....sliding through this site...and stumbling across your hatch...made me TOO..sign up here.... EVEN THOUGH... I drive a CB7 ( 4th gen )...I still have EQUAL love for both Chassis ( CA and CB )

Im CURRENTLY in the market to buying a CLEAN CA accord...but my luck is awkward for some reason.. LOL

but its true what ( CoWBoY993 ) said...your hatch is what you call a Milestone to the 3rd gens!

me being an experienced wrencher....I have NEVER had the pleasure of swapping a 3rd gen...at age 27...kind of late....Im getting around to finally having the chance on doing so....I have swapped so many other Hondas...( civics...4th gen and 5th gen accords...Preludes...and here and there H22s into CRXs ...and LS/VTEC hybrids into Tegs and Hatches ) Im delighted ...I finally get to SLOW down...get a 3rd gen...and swap something similar into a CA chassis that I have swapped into many other Hondas!

what Im currently reseaching....in swapping a K24/ K20 redtop head into a 4th gen accord ...INSTEAD of the "NORM" H22 into a CB7...I want to be different...I will rebuild the H22 that I have now....and maybe sell it..or ATTEMPT to install it into a CA accord...and then work on doing the K hybrid.

Your Hatch brings wonder and curiosity to many that are just browsing through this lovely 3rd gen site!

I give you GOLDEN thumbs up for nice swappage! :)

The a20 axle had a thicker diameter then the holes of the tranny.

Legend i know this is two years late but i wanted to get a clear answer about the passenger side A20 axle. Are you saying the axle would not fit in the Differential? or it to long to fit between the tranny and the hub? This is why i am asking you i have a 93 integra GS tranny (YS1) and i tried the passenger side A20 axle in it and it fits perfect in to the YS1 tranny. I will post pics latter but get back to me on this.:koolaid:

1991 B18a bottom end
Stock pistons bored .20 over
ARP head and rod bolts
Fully balanced/shot-peened and all parts were coated
New GSR/R Fuel pump and water pump
Lightened flywheel
GSR head Milled just a little
Cosmetic thin head gasket
STR Cam gears
AEBS intake manifold with stock GSR TB
Ebay Megan racing header modified with a 2.5 Collector
2.5" Pipeing all the way back to a vibrent Racing muffler.
