well, after some research i bought a Vector 2/10/20 AMP Charger. It's all digital "smart charger" that shuts off automatically when battery is charged. It has a rapid start feature that will allow you to start your rig after a few minutes of charging (depending on how much battery is discharged), Has a 3 stage charging sequence that's suppose to be good, and it has a reconditioning mode that actually is suppose to "recondition" an older/used battery by desulfication - this is a separate mode from charging and runs in 24 hour sessions. $33 delivered.
They (vector) make many chargers with varying amperage outputs. One thing I have read about is they won't charge a battery if the battery is less than 32degrees F....
found a pretty cheap source on ebay.
I know this could sound like a commercial - but it aint - it's just my take on a replacement charger.
