traction... :hs:

it was well worth the 15k. i'll post videos tomorrow or in a few days. as of now the car is running on the new falken azenis RT615 205/50/15 tires. it doesnt hold up to the 400+ hp so we're going to opt for running the bfG drag radials 225/55/15 everyday.

do keep in mind, this is an everyday driver on california piss gas 91 octane

no offense but i wouldnt trade that car for anything. not even for a skyline saleen corvette viper whatever. this is my pride and joy. the car is me...

but the rims are my very first watanabe rs-8 rims. i just took it off, put it on my hatch. then used the blue panasports for awhile, then used another set of one peice bronze watanabe for awhile. sold that set to my friend, put the silver ones back on the accord. and got another rs-8 rims for my hatch.

the rims are pretty heavy too, it's made more for durability. being a forged 3 peice rim you would assume so. but even with so much power. weight on rims wont matter much.

at 12psi you made 400hp+ at the wheels? hmmm Something is off here. I need to see the boost pressure at the given rpms to see if it is actually true. a 20V Audi head flows more than the B18 head (even tho you have it flowing more after all the head work). with the GT35R, you make 20whp for every 1psi of boost after 26psi. and that said, 406whp at 12psi seems far fetched. Its the kinda power a V8 with a 5.0L or more displacement would yield. Even the GT35R compressor map does not seem to go along with it.

PS: How much does your head flow (max with max lift)?

There isn't any Audi head flow better than a Honda Dohc vtec head, especially a B16 P&P head.
406 hp is in hubs, because is a dynopack, not exactly at the wheels.
In a dynojet this figure will be slightly lower, abot 5%, even though 406 hp on Church dynopack is simply INCREDIBLE.
This motor is capable of 30+ psi ( without rebuilding every year) and 700+hp at the same Dyno, on race fuel.

Jon, I believe you and your car exist only in cartoons.

That is awesome. I hope to achieve good numbers like that soon. I'm not going to spend 15K though... As far as the clutch, the exedy twin plate is pimp. I don't have the $ for that though, so I bought the action 2ms.. I think a good option for injectors would be wrx injectors with the caps removed, supposedly that's around 740cc. They are high resistance obd-1 compatible injectors, so they don't need a resistor box, but you do have to get creative to make them fit properly. Those are what I have. But you probably don't want to do that, you'll just spend whatever to get whatever injectors you want..
What is a p30 ecu? p28 92-95 civic ex, p75 ls, p72 gsr, right?

at 12psi you made 400hp+ at the wheels? hmmm Something is off here. PS: How much does your head flow (max with max lift)?

new pic of the boost sheet is up on the first page. as you can see, the wastegate i have is a POS. i plan on upgrading it an hks 60mm wastegate. the wastegate i have couldnt hold boost pressure well enough. so i had a boost spike and couldnt hold boost consistently. as for my head, being ported and polished (street/strip spec) with multi-angle valve job. it would flow way better than an audi head. why do you think it takes 25psi for an audi to even make the kind of hp i make at just a mere 12psi.

most likely i'll be using RC 750cc injectors, i dont want to use wrx's just because i dont know how it flows and how it sprays. cant take that chance with my kind of set up. anyhow, i'm trying to get my friends prelude vtec turbo done and tuned for the next meet. i'll let all you so cal people know what's up later.

btw, i have my trust exhaust for sale. for any of you so cal people i will sell it to you for 150.00 dollars. i am throwing in an axle back es muffler with it that is a direct bolt on. let me know if any of you so cal people are interested. preferrable pick up only

Great setup. I hope its well insured, cause it would really suck if it gets jacked after all that time and money spent. Painted black and with black seat covers it would look killer and not stand out to the thieves.

Waiting to see the videos, pm me if you need hosting space.

Accordtheory
01-14-2006, 02:29 PM
wickedaccord, I'm not necessarily reccomending it to you, since you can afford the RC's and they drop right in, but I guess the wrx injector mod is done by all the guys with those cars now. One of my friends told me about it after he did it to his car. It's just a little cap you cut off, it's weird. You don't actually alter the new surface that the fuel sprays through, so you can't really mess it up, which I was worried about. He has the turboxs utec piggyback thing, and said he had to set the injector scalar to a over 740cc. I just like to do things different and save money, that's why I went with them. I haven't flow tested them to observe the spray pattern (an old fuel pump, battery or battery charger and little can of fuel is how I've done that before) but my friend's car idles and drives fine.

So, how did you get that little sticker on your license plate that tells the piglets not to oink at you? You just found a shop that was down? In my little shithole of a town, woodland, I can't find anyone. The police presence is absolutely stifling, overwhelming here, and it's not even that ghetto! Every single time I go Anywhere, even just a couple blocks down the street, I see multiple police cars, and they are complete assholes. They see a modified car, there is a good chance they will follow you. Sacramento got a big grant from the state to teach the pigs how to spot modded cars, what to look for, what sections of the vehicle code to memorize, everything from ride height to tint to exhaust to everything they can see under your hood. In woodland, one of them ran up on me at night about a foot off my bumper with his high beams on, so I couldn't tell he was a pig, and then when I dropped it into 2nd to put some safe distance between us, he got me for speeding at the next light! I got a ticket for riding one of those tiny gas scooters that you stand on, for fuck's sake! I remember my mom telling me one time about how she went to the smog shop she always used to go to, and saw the pigs leading the guy away in cuffs..now none of these shops are taking chances anymore, I guess.

And I hope you have a good alarm, one of those that's outrageously loud and pages you, because if it's like here where you are, shit..2 of my friend's cars got jacked recently, an ls/vtec civic and a crx. My car was broken into once, my stereo and cds got stolen, and they tore my dash to shit with a foot long screwdrive to get my cd player out.

shit..I take back what I said earlier, maybe it is ghetto where I live..

Lok
01-14-2006, 03:37 PM
Yes!!! maybe is not only the injector problem, but also the wastegate which canot hold proper pressure:

just you all, look again at the two graphs posted by jon:

http://img435.imageshack.us/my.php?image=011005pictures0111pr.jpg

http://img57.imageshack.us/my.php?image=davesturbo8kg.jpg

at the point where the wastegate hold 17 psi we have huge gains, but then after the power droped at the same levels as the 12 psi graph , because the
wastegate canot hold proper boost until 8000rpm.

Jon's engine is incredible, the best 2.0L TURBO VTEC in the world.

For comparison please look the Dyno graphs(at the same Dyno) of a new K20 I-VTEC TURBO running constant 9-10psi ( no wastegate problems) Hondata tuned with T3/4 hybrid capable of 550hp:

http://www.hondata.com/dynok20a2guardian.html

..........barely 300 hp......

we figure about 320whp and 300lb of tq. due to it's 2.4 liter set up. 320whp on 10psi "hopefully" i hope it doesnt out shoot my civic like the accord did. scared the shit out of me when the accords numbers came up on such low boost.

hey thanks, the work was well worth it. and i'm glad you understand my stand point of view from putting so much effort, time and money into this. the attention like you say is original and different. but that's why we did what we did to our cars right? for that kind of attention and respect. i dont know what happened to your car but last i saw, it was b20 turbo with some issues. i was happy to hear another person was able to have the heart and dedication as i did to go this far with an 89accord. thanks bro, your words are appreciated.

I still have it its just been on hold for a bit cause I have a lot going on now that im out of school and I just bought a 06 Legacy GT for a daily driver. Im either going to strip the entire car and restore it all which will probably take the whole year or just fix the B20A and have another summer with the body as is then rip it apart next fall. I knew i was in for a ride by doing something out of the ordinary and unfortunately i ran into some big problems which ultimately came from poor machine shop work other than my one screw up. Then again you live and learn and this is how it works so i will keep going until its done.

How did I miss this?!!!?

Best Honda EVER.

Why? It's not a Civic/Teg, and has all the good stuff, and it's fast. Personally, I only buy Civics becuase B series go right in. I would drive B series Accord over the usual Civic Teg, but without the PR kit, the cost of getting a B series in one is as much as a EG/EK shell +swap. In that case, might as well go with what's newer. For me, a B series is a must, when I drive a Honda.

Theres no denying the incredible power of this ride. But I got really excited thinkin it was still a 3g accord other than just the shell. But like I said man, it's amazing. I give you my get out of debt soon card.

sorry for the late reply, but yeah he's still trying to sell it...like $13k. invested probably over $20k into it. he's starting another project right now, an h22 into a 5th gen accord, bored out to 2.5L i believe, so technically it'll be an h25...800hp monster. it's still a long going project of his. but as for the 3gee, it's all done and running. really fast car.

hey iceman, since you talk to the guy Mike from IL online, can you as him the specs of that turbo? cuz it does not look like it can push enough air efficiently to make 500whp, esp with that size compressor.

I concur.. even with my set up being a street set up on california's crappy 91 octane, I was only able to mutter 473whp at 17psi. And by biggest restriction was my 3 inch exhaust. my tuner, Shawn Church was scared to tune on 91 octane. Don't get me wrong, I'm just saying with Mr. Papa Smurfguy is saying also. It's hard to push out that amount of power with the spec size of that turbo. Every turbo has it's limit. And I'm still come around reading here once in awhile.

I'd like to post up my new numbers.. but numbers are just numbers. And a video of the accord whipping on my STi and a Procharged Z06. All I gotta say is, my hunger for more power just meant more wheel spin. And that is all but a curse. Plus I run on BFG drag radials everyday and it still spins like crazy. That's on low boost at 12psi making only 433whp. And this is air/fuel ratio tuning only. No cam gear tuning. Ignition timing was advanced to 18 degree and that was all the timing that was done. I can still make a lot more power with race gas.

so from my understanding is that its a T25 with a compatable 20G CHRA trying to make 400hp. He went thru all the hassle of machining a puny T25 compressor housing to accept 20G compressor wheel and it boggles my mind even more. Even tho the Compressor housing looks like a 60 Trim off a Ford or something. From my experience, my buddy with a full stock 20G on his 1st gen DSM made 300hp max and ran 12.4 (the evo he ran against ran a 12s flat with a 300whp).

Not contesting his methods, but 24lbs out of that turbo is just hot air after 20lbs if u ask me. But i like it setup, new and nice :)

I think Jonny had it by far but it was not a street car by any means. I saw his car make a few 10 second passes not that he needs someone to vouch for him.

I think this summer will bring a few decent hp 3rd gens if the economy ever picks up. I would have done a B-series swap if i was not into my B20A this much but im sticking with it and hope to bring a mid 300hp B20A to the table this summer.
