Polished?

i havent done it personaly but apparntly pollishing the intake is easy, just need a bit of chrome pollish and a fluff wheel

you don't use chrome polish on polished aluminum.

anything aluminium is easy to polish. pretty much. i thought about taking my thermostat housing off and doing that just for the hell of it. i use polishing compound that i get at sears in the section where all the rotory tools are. they have a kit to do small stuff. i bough bars of the compound also. i'm thinking i will polish my extra valve cover here soon. especially if i get some new parts put on.

ive done my thrmo housing it dose stand out alot dident know the valve cover was aluminum ill be polishing mine now

ctually learned about polishing from typegs how to on CB7Tuner... kinda funny isnt it . i polished my valve cover , but i couldent take it off so it took forever and a day to do . its looks like an effing mirror. i polished the battery tie down for the hell of it . i noticed u polished the hood prop up thingy . i might do that tommmorrow. but polishing is uber easy to do if u have a dremel and some time to kill . it makes ur engine look better and drops a tiny tiny bit of weight which can never hert.

yea all my aluminum parts under the hood have to be polished like that before I put the anodized paint over them,it being a candy. from raw aluminum I just use different grades of sandpaper up to 2000 grit,then use mothers polish. the mothers polish is really just a colorant. it's white rouge is what it is. when you are doing raw aluminum you can also use valve grinding compound or clover compound, this will help a lot up to the grit of the compound. it's like sandpaper in a grease base.

example: http://www.geocities.com/moultriemanicmechanic/image00088.jpg anything aluminum or purple under the hood is polished. the only problem is it's starting to look kind of dull from road grime,I just need to get out there and start cleaning. everything aluminum not painted is cleared. I bought some wheel cleaner safe for aluminum wheels that are painted, so it should be safe for under the hood too.
