Vehicle -> 1987 Honda Accord - automatic - carb - 4 door.

Ok - got my car running, now on to this problem.

Shortly after starting, I see coolant spraying upwards from behind and below the rear of the air filter cover. At the very bottom of this post is a pointer to a thread at this site that is likely what I'm dealing with. Just in front of it is a pointer to the general area of the part in question that I suspect. The part is #10 in the photo - thermo valve B(B-60).

I suspect it's the thermovalve or one of it's 2 hoses as the pattern is pulsed. It will spray for awhile, then stop. A hose would simply spray all of the time.

I realize that I must get underneath the car while it's warming up to get a better view of where it's actually coming from(can't see where it originates from above).

If my suspicion is correct, is this part readily accessible from below? Any snags or gotchas would be apppreciated. Thanks for your time.

Got under the car after putting on ramps and watched as it warmed up. Saw coolant spewing out the top of a hose that connects to the rear passenger side of int. manifold.

The hose is part #11 at the following:

type in the website on my sig where it asks if url is good say yes or click it.
i had same problem but had a freeze plug rusted out.
the thermo valve have a tendancy to completely rust out and just fall apart when removed i would replace all the hoses if i was you if your system is not rusty then you are in good shape.
i wish i had left the water warmup alone but that is life. does not like cool weather with the water system bypassed
