Man these 3geez are rally reliable. The body might be rusted out but that engine just keeps on purring. Pretty soon these baby's will be classics!

yeah. so now you have a parts car eh? its a good feeling isnt it? i have a parts car for my dastun 280Z and its a big help. as for the car smoking like in winter when its first started, mine still does that and it only has about 126000 miles on it. i found that if i open the choke manually it will stop the smoking due to mine running a bit rich. i'm going to convert to a manual choke for this problem.

That is damn good compression readings. If there isn't any major oil leaks, than your motor is in good condition. Generally, rear main seals leak on older motors.

As far as the rust & body work. A cutting tool, sheet metal, grinder & welding machine should knock it out. Just need to learn the skills to do it right. (no need for all that since it is a donor car)

i would not wana be driving around in it better off geting the parts we need and send it to the recors and then pull the mk3g motor out and getthe trany off it and take it down to the basment and put new bearings in it... btw we paid 60$ that trany it apears to have been rebuilt prior to geting it off a car at the recors that had been rear ended....... anyhow the motor just sits waiting

Actullaly you could not be more accurate. WE DID PARK IT SOMEWERE LIKE A FIELD (ok it was the guy who owns a cattarys (where you put cats) back yard) WHILE WE BEEN GOIN TO SRI LANKA:rant: ! First time it stood for 6months then the second time 10 months. now trying to sell but still not to keen on the parts car idea!
Ps it started 1st time on both ocasions after being left standing and since then it has passed 2 mots (okay(i like brackets) we did spend loads to get it through the mot the 2nd time but not much the 1st time)
