i thought that was chromed, you gotta post up some of your tecniques on polishing.
its one of those things that are hard to give directions to, they tend to very from person to person. like they say, there is more than one way to skin a cat. its one of those things you kind of have to practice and get a feel for. i have found that my skills have improved over time.

you basicly just want to sand the casting texture smooth so you have no pits or imperfections. most people start with 400 grit sand paper. then you work with a finer grit sand paper smoothing the lines from the previous grit. to figure out when you move on to a finer grit, you just use your better judgment. most people go up to 1000 grit before switching to metal polish for the mirror reflection. the more you buff, the greater the reflection.

its daily driven with 210K miles rain or shine.

nah i don't care much for stock wheels. i want some nice 17-18 inchers. later.

Jesus. I thought a few cars i saw were clean.. But this! What do you use to keep the exterior paint so SHINY? I know you probably wax.. But i can tell just from looking at it that you use something else too..

I'd probably say he (being an experienced buffer/polisher) probably wetsanded/buffed the stock paint. That does wonders if you know what you're doing and your paint's still good...just an idea though.

yes minus the bumpers and a fender.

this thread is for swirls, but it should be done on every car:

wetsanded no, polished yes. but yes koney, wetsanding is a good idea on a paint job with orange peel, lucky for me the stock paint doesn't have very much peel. later.

i am glad i inspired you a little. and your right it does shave off a tad bit of weight, it also runs cooler as there is no heat paint on the valve cover anymore.
