hmm, my local walmart sells grey primer for $0.98 a can, and black primer for $3.99 a can. I was just hoping I could find it cheaper.

I sprayed my car with primer from Bi Mart (you probably don't have those there). $1.98 a can and it took 3 cans.

I would agree with those that said to just paint it flat black not black primer. I just finished spraying my friends supra *MKIII* in black primer from PPG. Turned out really really good if I do say so myself and even more importantly he's pleased. It really I guess depends on how long youre going to have this make shift paint job. If it's only going to "hold you over" for about 1/2 a year or so I say just spring for the real deal aka PPG black primer. For the amount we used it was 130 including hardner. Not bad and it definatley won't peel off in sheets like maaco will. But that's just my .02.

Anyone have some pics of a flat black 3gee? How about primer grey 3gee? I'd like to see what they look like from the front and back mostly.

this is my car about two years after it was done by macco. it is glossy black with clear coat.

whats up with the FLAT black? theres no shine to it... even if it is primer, which is an undercoat, it doesnt make a difference what color it is, gray or black.

if you want the flat look go with an acrylic enamel with like30% flattener added, primer is porous and wont last. There is also some companies that sell "ready to spray" flat black paint, mainly to the rat rod market. Just whatever you do use a gun, it will look alot better then cans.

That is the 06 Skunk2 Civic Si. Its sorta liek a semi matte finish. I believe they sprayed an acrylic enamel 4:1 with PPG flattener. Im doing this to my U13 altima next month. Also, spraying low gloss finishes takes very little skill, so you can DIY it all the way.
