I was wondering what are the most common headlamp conversions for these 3gs? I reall like popup headlights, but since mine are kinda messed up I was thinking about just going with some stationary lights. I searched and found a few posts but nothing too informative. What are the most common (and easiest/cheapest) modifications done to these headlights?

well not many people change the pop ups the one that looks the easiest to mod onto our cars is the newer prelude headlights, ive seen one or two 3gs that have done this

none are easy...end of story. you have to fab up everything. and of course for the prelude ones im pretty sure there is a lil bit of body work required. remember you can do mostly anything you want if you have the money, time, and patience.

good luck bud

yeah i do like those but the price is :bs: and they probley work best with HID's not halogen. projectors arent as effective when used with halogen lights most of the time.

ive looked up some headlights specifically projectors and i have found a few things. first of all the pic of the above projector is too expensive for $1000 a pair, but they come with the hid wiring kit and bulbs, which the hid kits usually sells for around $300. and they have various solutions to hibeam/lowbeam hid systems. some just up the juice to the bulbs for high beams. others have little motors in the bulb to raise the bulb. i dont really care cause lowbeam hids would still be better than the silverstars i have now, even with them on high beam. here is a supposed projector for only 70 dollars.http://www.matrixracing.com/pc-4607-316-projector-sealed-beam-conversion-headlights-7x6.aspx and here is a headlight i found at anzousa.com it is a replacement for a scion but i think it would work. http://www.anzousa.com/index01.htm you have to scroll down

Just thought I'd throw my .02cents in. I noticed about a year ago that Procarparts has the projectorhousings. and the $1000 is just for the enclosures it's 1300 *or so* for the whole kit inlcuding bulbs, igniter and all that. I just really don't think a grand is worth two housings that look pretty dang close to $40 ones at PCP.

but do u guys think they will look good on the 3g a dont ever use my high beems so that dosent matter to me oh and is there a how-to on changing the headlights u know converting to h4

hmm, rather than spend that kind of money on that stuff I'd rather spend $100 on custom building some kind of projector housings using projector driving lights.

ya id be down for something that cheep too but were can we get just the round projectors to put in the housings, i mean the housings wouldent be that hard hell just a 7x6 piece of plastic or stanless steel with a couple of holes in them or just a singel one

any headlights you find that look like these arent real projectors. they are only made to look like them. i have a set of them and the projector looking lense serves no perpose other than looks. as for the HID bulbs, there is only one true hi/lo version and that is when the motorized version. you'll see ones with a blue bulb as the high beam and those are fake hi/lo ones.

So HondaBoy you've tried those PCP projector housings and they were pretty much crap? That's dissappointing. Instead of buying a true retrofit I believe it would be much cheaper to buy an H4 conversion housing and then go JY diving and find 2 Hella projector housing and just start retrofiting it yourself like most folks do. Or at least most folks at hidplanet.com. I've been wondering about it for quite some time. The biggest issue I can see is making sure that they flips-ups still maitain functionality but, as long as you do a little measuring b/f hand I don't see it really being an issue. Just my .02cents :)
