Does anyone have pics that show the difference between a:
2.25" rear, and 2.5" front (no wheel gap) lowered 3G
or
1.5" all around lowered 3G

I'm looking at a set of 2.25 rear and 2.5 front springs on this board, but think this may be too much of a drop. Any advice??

My CarDomain page show the profile as it sits now.

You planning to invest in good shocks with that drop, right?

Thats with 2.5 springs, pinch forks modded for a total of 3 inches in the front. And 2.25 in the rear. 16x7 wheels w/ 205/40/16 tires. No gap.

I sure did ,today. i pm'd you earlier about the O2 sensors. What kind are they and do they still work? No big deal, they just look alot different from stock but same plugs.

So, do you think this drop 2.5 FRONT AND 2.25 REAR would be ok with 205 40 17 tires?

3gn86lxi,
I'm looking or a local contact/hookup for new KYBs...(at a reasonable price) as well. I noticed that u r just across the bridge from me.

Yes you should be o.k. Hopefully your offset on your wheels will work. That will be what makes it or breaks it!
I don't have any one locally to get suspension stuff, I got all my shit online.

Imma order some custom ground controls eventually-they will make custom spring rates for your application too-the springs are made by eibach I belive

Old pic I have after I dropped the ol' Accord 2.5 in the front, 2.25 in the rear.
I need to fix my lower control arm still, waiting on tax return.

If you are going to lower your car, you may want to get stronger struts. KYB struts are stock replacement. With stiffer springs, your car will bounce all over the road with stock struts.

Shepherd,
Are the KYB GR2's the same as what you're thinking? Or are they different than the standard KYBs?

I was just told from an Ebay seller that I'm considering buying from, that KYB GR2's will not work for a 2.25" / 2.5" drop. He said the max you can drop with them is 1.5". Is this true?

And......if KYBs are not good for lowering, what are some other aternate struts that are reasonably priced?

i got my tockico blues off of nopi for $300ish for the set of 4 if i remember right.

then i picked up my intrax springs off ebay for $179, rides fine, fronts a tad bouncy but nothing overly durastic or problematic

The best thing you are going to get would be a Koni. But since Koni no longer makes our strut, we are out of luck there. Unless you get used ones like I did, and alot of other members have done this too.
I ran the Tokico HP Blues before I found used Koni's. And with the same drop as you are looking at, they worked pretty well. I bought a set of four on E-Bay for $239 shipped I think.
That is what I would do, or you could spend $600 on Bilstiens with revalving.

3gn86lxi ,
I saw the waterfront pic of your car, dropped the same as I'm going, and it looks great.

So, can both Tokicos and Konis still be in good shape on the used market??

For sure Koni's can, I would say maybe Tokico's. It depends on milage, and the driving style of whoever used them before you get them. If they have not been bottomed out, they should be good.

yeah I like cause its not too low and it sits just right-whats your car riding on btw?

I have been on tokicos and sus tech springs for awhile now and they have around 20k miles on them and they still work fine-only thing that dosent work good is my prelude arms because the washers I used as spacers are all squeaky now I need to find something else to use as spacers

Right now i'm riding on stock struts and some no namer springs, the car rides good with minimal bounce ,but i'm saving for some tokicos right now:)

Yes I'm aware that some consider them only stock replacements, but it is all I had the money for at the time considering I had to replace my stock ones anways, I'm saving for some tokicos in the future, until then though these ride fine (well as fine as a car dropped on 17's with lo pro rubber can ride)

my car domain site is, http://www.cardomain.com/ride/612470 it needs some updates though, once i get some time I'll update it.

pshh tell me about it,
i have konis on the front now, and i'm afraid they're blown after 2 months
Im about to buy some 2.5 springs and cut 1/2 coil on the bottom if my konis aren't blown.

there are some really nice drops posted in this thread. Good job fellas

I have my tokico reds (no longer made?) Ground Control (eibach springs) down all the way (which I think is 4"). I have 205/40/17's and I don't rub except for some of that thick papery stuff that hangs in the fender well, on one side (I tore it out on one side b/c it was too noisy, and only around turns).

So I don't rub anything important, and haven't rolled the fenders. Here's what it looks like
http://users.adelphia.net/~versanick/frontlowness1.jpg
http://users.adelphia.net/~versanick/rearlowness1.jpg

and also I don't know how well you can see how low it is but here's a video of it (with the coilovers all the way down) (quicktime)

http://users.adelphia.net/~versanick/driving2.mov

And I know my rear camber's bad. They sell kits for it, but it doesn't really bother me. The car looks cool enough for me, and it's not as noticable as in that picture from the front. I can't go over speed bumps, and to jack up the car, I have to do it from two corners at the same time (otherwise the pinch welding goes CRUNCH CRUNCH - not good)...

so I don't advise going as low as I am. Especially if you have to go over railroad tracks and speed bumps and curbs (don't ever go near a curb...)

good luck
