OK so norther colorado recently got about 8-10" of snow and lots of ice and what not. So heres what my car was lookin like as of this morning, so much snow/ice was packed up in my suspension and wheels that my tires were so far out of balance i couldnt keep my car on the road above 35mph, and my ride quality SUCKED.

Here are a few pics of everything. O, and i hit a curb, left rear wheel, i kind of powered out of it and saved trashing 2 wheels, only got this one. Its about a 2.5" scrape, going to get some flat black paint and touch it up when the weather clears.

Anyways, on to the pics!

Yeah it didn't snow too much here in the Springs. It was freezing cold though. Can't wait till it warms back up.

rocks.

Naw, the roads themselves werent that bad. Just deep snow+lowered car = problem. The curb rash was me being careless and thinking i had alot more traction then i really did.

I was very pleased to discover how well these cars handle in the snow...we got 7-8", great traction, great handling. My car is the same colour as in the pics!

My car had better traction with bald stock sized tires, and better braking traction with shot brakes that didnt grab as well...

with wider, lower profile tires, and really nice brakes im constantly having traction problems.

My cars been doing it every winter for 17 years, and it still only has a rust spot the size of my thumb. Theres one up the street now that doesnt have any rear quarter panels, or rocker panels from rust.

Its all in how you clean up afterwards. My cars getting hosed down tomorrow, get most of the crap off of it

did you hit that fence? cuz it sure looks like it

halxi
02-20-2006, 05:05 PM
No, the fence was still a good 3 feet behind the car, just the angle makes it look closer

hehehe, i love playing around in snow... I wonder how that new civic of mine is going to handle.

I'm thinking it's going to handle like drag slicks would on ice lol.

With the camber negative in the rear like it is, and the fact the tires are wider and the car is lowered... should be interesting when the time comes.

Well, snow itself isn't really bad. That the damn salt they put on the roads that kill the metal :(

I don't know how you can drive in snwo with those tires. Oh boy I would miss my Nokians :D
