Intake Filter Placement

I just got a new intake, but i dont know where i should place the filter :\. Should i place it against the firewall, like the car @ www.89accord.com or behind the battery.. or elsewhere?

It seems like behind the battery is coolest, but will i get any sort of cowl-induction if i place it against the firewall?

okay u made a good point about moving ur battery, i suggest u do. ANd have the filter around the place where the battery was and have the hole in ur box frame where the stock filter was open. have a shroud made of aluminum or tin going around the filter as in 'blocking the engine heat out as much as possible. another possible thing is, get a filter shroud, where the filter would go in this is to actually immitate cold air intake without having to put the whole filter inside the bumper which would be hard and messy and pain in the ass to change or remove during winter. there was a toyota or a honda site about that and i just cant find it anywhere.
